Catfish Customs are awesome. I’ve put them in several bows. Mike, the owner, has the best customer service I’ve ever experienced. He will take care of you and build an amazing set of strings. I’ve never had mine stretch or go out of timing either.

Lotta good ones out there. I like 60x and have no reason to look elsewhere.

 

So many, I prefer Shane’s at twisted x, I needed some quicker so went with GAS but will order from twisted x. I prefer ones made by the same guy who does it all and not buy many different people.

 

This right here! Lots of guys have been as good as the best until that point where they hire workers to help. We have all seen it here time in and time out. Some of the companies still make really good strings, but it seems the attention to small details that sets the small guys apart.

usacustomstrings on eBay sells great sets at the best price I’ve found. His sets have been as good or better than all the previously mentioned builders on here. Definitely worth checking out

 

I echo the sentiments of the other guys but in no particular order. I like Catfish Customs, Twisted X, Buck Slayer, and BC custom strings.

 

OP....you've been a member since 2014.....you have to know that this is one of the most common thread topics on AT. It comes up almost weekly and offers the same opinions from guys who have their favorites.....just like preferred bows-arrows-sights-stabilizer-quiver-broadheads-camo pattern/brand-treestand-pack-binoculars-etc. My question to you is: Whose opinion are you going to believe? In 11 replies you have at least 8 different suggestions ....who is "best" of them? Are they relatively equal or is there actually a better "best" waiting for the next guy to share?

I have shot a bunch....I continue to shoot Catfish Customs for the reasons given above. I don't claim they are "best", but they are better than many others and are priced affordably.....built by a guy who answers the phone or texts without a "staff" who have been "trained".

 

Shane at twisted x. His strings are great and his customer service is amazing. He has helped me out on a few occasions.

Not to hijak thread but what material should a go with?

 

I haven't used or installed strings from every builder nor will I bash a string builder but.... These are the strings that I recommend to my customers and my thoughts on each:

Note - This list is based on the number of experiences that I have had with the string builder, MOST to LEAST.

1) 60X - Quality product and really quick turn around. In most cases, I can have them in my shop in a week. I'm a dealer for them and on the very few occasions there was an "issue", they did right by me and my customers. I've been shooting strings from 60X for 8 years and have a set on my hunting bow.

2) GAS - These strings come factory on the bows that I sell and have had excellent results with them. I'm not a dealer for them but, some of my customers are very loyal to Eric and his products. I've installed quite a few sets of these strings and they are also excellent quality. I have a set on my 3D bow.

3) Wicked Threads - I'm a dealer for this builder. Craig builds a helluva set of strings. Every set of strings I got from this builder have been spot on. I haven't had to add or remove a single twist and everything has been in spec right out of the package. These strings are quickly climbing up the leader board for number of sets that I've sold.

4) A3 Archery - I'm a dealer for this builder. Quick turnaround and excellent quality and competitively priced. I put a set on my spot bow and after thousands of shots over the last few months, the tune is just as spot on as the day I installed them.

5) Rogue - I'm not a dealer for this builder but the quality is excellent. I don't "see" why the R21 strings cost almost twice what other builders are charging but, they are great strings. 2 of my customers are on the Rogue shooting staff and they bring their stuff to me for installation.

6) Tall Tine/BC Strings - I'm not a dealer for either of these builders. I installed the customer supplied strings and they are happy with their decision to use them.

I'm sure there are other excellent builders out there.... I just don't have experience with them.

BC Custom strings... look him up on facebook. I got a set for my Evoke 35 a year ago, put thousands of shots trhough it and it is still good to go like new.
I did put a dloop on ultra tight and caused some separation. He offered to re-serve it free of charge if I covered shipping to him and back.
Quality all the way.

My next set will be vec99 wax less from catfish ! I have heard so many great thing about catfish strings cant wait to try them out !

 

I'm sure they all make great strings... but Catfish strings is what I put on my bows!

 

You are going to get a pile of answers but my pick is Vapor Trail. Great l, reputable company that has been in the business a long time and takes care of their customers.

 

Buckslayer strings are very nice strings !
