So who has the fastest bow? Not the fastest bow at 60 lbs or the fastest bow with this arrow or that arrow just who puts the biggest numbers on the chrono plain and simple so who can say they have the fastest bow on AT.

Can't post pics of it, sorry.

I may build a new one though with some new stuff I have had for awhile, I sometimes get the urge to test the boundaries of design.

If I do I will post pics and maybe put a video on the Strother Archery forum of me shooting it. It takes a while to build something like this so it won't be anytime soon.

It's pure insanity to run 3 grains per lb at higher poundages, that is just looking for trouble or injury. But, everyone seems to do it until they blow up a few, then they smarten up, lol. If like Kevin you are looking to break World records, well that's one thing, but it has no use if you ever want to shoot the thing daily for 3D or whatever. We used to shoot many of the older hatchet cam style twins back in the day in similar local speed contests with pre-stressed, 12 strand, streamline harnessed, (remember that explosive material?) maxxed out bows 80-90-100lbs and more and running afc 2100 carbons with a nock insert for a tip, lol 210g total weight, polished axles, and all of the tricks, and getting speeds over 400 even back then. So whoop dee doo. Honestly, we haven't come all that far in 20 years, some of the old twins could crank some serious speed.... And anyone with half a brain and a bit of technical background can build a speed bow that might hold up for three shots thru the chrono and speeds over 400, and if you build it with higher/insane poundages, it gets even easier to close in on 500. We are reaching a wall currently, until we start incorporating new technologies. Once we do, and Joe public accepts them, well then it's a whole new ballgame. So...

How about this instead, gentlemen:

If you want to impress....here's what I want to see--- a 7+ inch brace height production bow, that at a very shootable to most 60lbs and a AMO 29" drawlength, with a regular tru peep and loop on the string, with a 300g IBO arrow, and smooth drawing cam, with no shock, recoil, or vibration, AT ALL, that hits an HONEST 350+ fps all day long without overstressing or failing components.....build it, and you will be worshipped....guaranteed. That would mean at IBO 30/70 with nothing on the string but a nokset, you would have to be hitting close to 375.

Have at it, and have fun....but.... you may want to hurry...

100%..right now I'm hitting 349fps @29" 67# w 335gr arrow. But..I have to deal with the 5" brace, so I don't forget my armguard when I shoot.

No real science to getting speed, I shot 427 fps at a sport show many years ago with a PSE Carroll intruder at 95lbs and 28"draw shooting a 210gr arrow, shot 8 times in front of hundreds over the weekend and it was rated at 235AMO so anything over that would be much faster

imagine what an Omen, XL8er or Destroyer would do with that set up
