Got a spot that just doesn't have enough mature trees for a hang on. About 20 acres of scrub brush golden rod and some marsh willows

Thought about getting a tripod stand but whose had experience with one?

Feedback would be great

I have three. I had the same issue you have. They cut out all the pine trees and there was nothing to use but ground blinds or tripod stands. Ido like them but you will need one with a good seat. I hang camo all the way around the shooting rail to cover all my leg and feet movement. The replanted pine trees on my property are now big enough for ladder stands so I have a few of them also.

I built one to use in a x-mas tree field, as shown in an old boyscout handbook(lookout tower). Friends used it, but I never got to before loosing the property, so I can't say how the deer react to it. You're sticking out above everything else, so add some branches to the top for cover. Friends didn't have any luck, but they couldn't sit still either. After hunting from natural ground blinds with a lot of success, I'll not build another.

I got the upper platform of a Strongbuilt tripod off Craigslist and built my own. Use mainly for gun season. I've often thought about getting the portable aluminum by Millennium for bow and setting it just inside cornfields but never did.

I had two of them up in an extremely large crp field... I killed a mess of deer out of them. I had the ones walmart always sells, i think ameristeps? I also bought the roof kits and had the skirts on them. Roof kit or not, they are not bow friendly. You could use firearms or crossbows out of them due to size and movement.

Again, same setup only bigger ground as I was in about 120acres of crp, but I killed a mess of deer...

Today, that crp is soy beans... Depressing, it was prime rabbit/quail/deer habitat, but the government didnt renew the contract so back into production it had to go.

I've hunted out of them in Tx & Ok for hogs & had no problems. I bought one for my son to use in an area where it's all scrub & small trees. He's going to back it into the front of some smaller trees to break up any sky lining.
