all the talk about arrows is Victory, Easton, etc. those are great for sure, and I currently use TKO’s. Why no talk about carbon express anymore? Can’t find many threads about them.

Cuz they're junk
Based on a lot of the feed back on here every arrow is junk. I don't think I have seen any brand or model escape completely. Always some post about arrows not straight, break easily. Even the top arrows. Four guys will be bragging on some arrow, then someone comes on and says he had to discard three out of a dozen because they were crooked, or weighed 10 grains difference. And so many of them break just shooting them into regular targets. And they can't retain their straightness. They go crooked.

I will recommend an arrow occasionally that I have used for years, shot thousands and thousands of times. Killed some pretty tough game with. Never had one that did not spin perfect, and weights were within a grain or so. And someone will reply " I had some of those, I broke four of the dozen just shooting targets. They had a big weight variance and had to cut them off a bunch just to get them to spin close to straight, I think the spine was off too. Just junk....I am like, huh?

I shot and hunted with Maxima 3D Select, Hunters and most recently the Red SD for a few years. They were all great for me. The Red SD test as good as anything I've seen on a spine tester for straightness. And better than any carbon shaft I've seen for spine consistency around the whole shaft. I had no problems at all with durability either. They were just as tough as the Easton Axis I shot before them and tested better on my spine tester in every way possible.

I switched to RIP TKO a few years ago because I wanted a little bit lighter gpi shaft. They have served me well also but I'd have no problem going back to the Red SD.

I just picked up some of the new CX Photon SD shafts yesterday. They test just as good as the Red SD and RIP TKO on my spine tester. I haven't shot them yet but the consitency is very impressive.

CX arrows are far from junk. The company that bought CX (Feradyn) is junk but the arrows are still made by the same factory in Korea. I've tried and tested all of the major arrow brands and CX is right there with them all.

First thing that came to my mind as well. I’ve never seen any other arrow stick like they do.

If I'm ever on a course with somebody that has a quiver full of them, I always volunteer to be the score keeper that round.

I have owned Cx arrows for 20 plus years, tons of different versions, all were really good. They got beat up over the marketing and then the Feradyne switch probably hurt them.

I still shoot some old CX200 and 300 series on one bow and Red SD on the other, no complaints.

Maxima red sd were the worst I've ever tried.

I actually really wanted to like them because they shot awesome.......until they broke....
Broke more in one dozen of those that I have in past 10 years of others combined.....easy.

They were the thinnest walled garbage I've ever shot. Goldtip far more durable and shot just as consistent for my hunting setup as the better straightness tolerance of cx. And I'm not the only one who has seen cx just not shine when it comes to durability.

Feradyne Outdoors bought them & must have shelfed them.
Yep When Companies get bought they drop many Products since Feradyne bought Apple Archery their Arrow Saw is no longer Available, The same for Big Dog Tree Stands also bought and now Big Dog Parts and Such no longer available. Big Dog was popular and sold at Menards a while back among other Big Box Stores and then Menards stopped selling them and then they just about Disappeared They offered replace Ratchet Straps for their Stands as well as misc Nuts and Bolts if you need them no longer available. Guess they lost out to Other Tree Stand makers. Also They Own Covert Trail Cameras which was big back in 2012 they lost their Popularity (too much hype by pro staffers and they slowly also disappeared) This seems to happen more these days. Others have like Beman. Carolina Archery Products were bought by Esclade Sports which also owns Bear Archery & Trophy Ridge some get out when the price is right or lose popularity. Look at Feradyne they own many of these Archery Companies these days you might be surprised!

Tried CX Maxima Red SD last fall. Not as straight as my HeXX 330’s were, but killed a nice buck with one. I hit the far leg and it broke out the insert as soon as the deer took a step. Found the head and half-out basically right where it stood. Not many arrows that could take that.

Man, you nailed that to a T!!! I shot Easton Axis for years and during the winter of 2022, decided to try the Easton Hexx 330 shafts with some front end weighting to play with FOC. I had been reading for a few years about the quality and satisfaction of Hexx shooters, so I bought a half dozen with 50gr brass inserts to test out a year ago Feb. They shot great indoors and also with a BH as the spring weather warmed up doing outdoor testing. Only issue I had was learning they had been discontinued by Easton for the Sonic model (which did not have the same .001 tolerances).

I mentioned them a few times in AT posts and here comes "that guy"......'yeah, I shot Hexx but broke 4 out of a dozen'.....yada, yada. Well I have been shooting them for over a year now, indoors, outdoors at distance, with BH's, into bag targets and foam targets and 3D targets.....into deer and a turkey without breaking a single one. By doing some legwork, I have nearly four dozen and don't regret my purchase a bit. But no matter what your results are, there is someone, somewhere who had really bad results and it was the arrow shaft's fault.
