im using 1.5 in quickspin fletching with a vital gear kaz away rest. my fletchings on the left side of the arrow are wrinkled.

why?

you sir have vane contact going on. Borrow the missus' baby powder (talc) and apply evenly over your rest and arrow shelf, shoot a few then have a look to see where the talc has come off and you have your contact area. You may need to simply adjust the arrow nock, nocking point, centreshot or dropaway timing. Keep using this method until you find the culprit...or the missus catches you with her baby powder :darkbeer:

but what on the left is it striking? remember the arrow is rotating as it leaves the bow.

That is correct. It takes a few feet for the vanes to start the arrow to rotate.

...this can add to your sight/arrow impact issue as well...

...think about this "left side" of your arrow making contact and where your arrows are hitting...

...so much for paper tuning telling you everything was "good to go"
