Anyone use the XOP receivers that you strap on to a tree and then hook your tree stand into that receiver?
Any comments on them?

Thanks

I have one that I use. It's loud. I taped off where the bracket goes into the receiver and used flexseal on the receiver to make it quieter. If you go slow you can get it locked in quietly. It's also slick on the tree. It takes some getting used to, but it does work well. It definitely makes it easier to hang a stand

I have one and have practiced with it. I could not get the stand snug enough to the tree. I think part of it may have been the tree I was using it on. The V bracket on my Vanish XT wasn't getting a good bite. The bracket itself doesn't really have much to bite into the tree. It's kind of heavy and can be loud setting the stand in it.

But it's definitely easier than trying to hold the stand and get the strap around the tree. But i've also been looking at one of these.

agreed on all points. a little loud, a little bulky, but does its intended job. i find the standard 6 point bracket on the stand bites much harder and is easier to level in crooked trees.

but if easier hanging is the goal, the bracket does its job.

I bought one when I got my Vanish, but I never used it. XOP has a 4 pack of cam hook straps that I ordered too and I actually like it better. I just fixed up a paracord loop that ties to the bracket, set the hook strap, loop the paracord and it holds it in place until I get the straps on and locked down. Once I'm done, I'll loosen it up and use it as a hook to hold my backpack.

I have one and use it for my Vanish Evo. Adds a little time, but if you go slow to ensure you're not making a bunch of noise, then you're talking about adding maybe 1 minute to your setup time. Of course if you're buying a bunch of the brackets and leaving them in the tree, then that additional setup time and noise doesn't matter. And as far as I know, it's the only mounting bracket on the market that has offset slots for less than perfect trees.

I have one but I find strapping a hook to the tree and have a cable loop on my stand. I strap it to the tree and hang the stand on the hook and strap the stand on.
The XOP bracket is like a boat anchor plus the treestand sticks to the tree better without the bracket.

The small hook and strap is lighter and much quieter.
