All,
Was looking to see if my local pro shop had any new Xpedition's in stock. Amongst a sea of Mathew's, Bowtech and Hoyt's was a 2014 Xcentric. I took it on myself to ask the shop owner if he was going to keep carrying their line. He said he could order one in if needed. He proceeds to tell me that Xpedition has changed their local Rep. The previous Rep was well known to the owner and now is gone. Apparently that means no more Xpedition's will be stocked. Very unfortunate as I really wanted to shoot the new Perfextion.

Now I've been tuning up for league and trying to get the bow ready. I wasn't excited about how said pro shop setup my Xcentric. The arrow is slanted down on the rest. So I wanted to shoot it thru paper.

Ended up being a nock hi tear. So the tech checks the cam timing (no draw board). Says the are synced and proceeds to adjust my QAD rest. We shoot it thru paper and get a decent year.

Here's the problem, the arrow is now super slanted down. There is no way it's setup correctly. I was so frustrated that I left.

I really like the guys at the said shop and they sponsor our bowfishing team. Don't want to cause any problems but I know the way my bow is sitting now is in no way right.

Obviously, the solution is to start tuning my own bows. I'm a little stressed for time especially when 3D league starts in January. I'm looking for some help. I live in WI about 1/2 hour away from the Twin Cities.

Advice appreciated. Thanks,
UT

I went through this myself, found out they hired the outdoor specialist group to handle there line of bows. I would think that they would be driving to all the shops soon and getting there product out. Sign up for nuts and bolts DVD he is putting together for bow tuning, this should be a great investment. Knowing how to do your own work is priceless, but you will find out you end up doing a lot of your friends and family bows to.

If I understand correctly Expedition is working on some tuning videos this week.
I think they will have them on their web site soon.

How did they check the sync? Some just get the stops hitting the same and call it good. That's not sync.

Can you post up a couple of pics of your cam orientation, and pics of the timing marks, also one really good shot of the arrow nocked up in line with the berger hole with the qad cord pulled tight. Somethings not right, he shouldent have moved the rest down to cure a nock high tear.

That was my thinking also, if you had a nock high tear, the rest should have been moved up, not down.

Are you getting any vane contact with the rest?

I made a mistake somewhere with my description. My arrow was certainly pointed down before he moved the rest. After the rest adjustment the arrow is pointing down farther. Wish I would've taken pics of the tear. I thought initially nock low and slight right tear. He said just the opposite. QAD HDX rest.

My thinking is this: cam timing marks are good. D-loop and rest location are jacked up. Rest should be good left to right

You have to understand I'm a newbie trying to figure this out. Basically been a bow hunter my entire life (30 years of experience). Want to learn more because I love this bow.

Thx for all your help

My opinion, leave the nock point and loop where they are for now.
Raise rest to dead level arrow with string being level.
(90 degrees to string).
Shoot through paper and see where you are at.
Most hybrid cam systems tune at dead level to
1/16 nock high. Just my opinion.

I would try to do it myself all over again. Relevel the arrow and shoot it through paper again and try to vary grip pressure high and low, if its still funny let us know. It looks like your upper cam orientation could be ever so slightly under rotated also, but lets start from scratch with the basics!

I'm with you guys!! The problem is that the rest doesn't have enough travel because the D loop is way too high. Trust me I was thinking about that this morning!! Don't have the tools right now to take this to another level.

My understanding is on these cams you want the top cams hitting the stops first.

Here is what I'm going to do!! An awesome AT Member (Hoppy) has offered to get the bow right. I'm shipping the bow to him today, he's in MI.

In the future I'm going to fix my own stuff and try to consume as much info as I possibly can. Nut's and bolt's, also a nice article on the PSE forum on Hybrids. Just trying to get my act together and trying to figure out what I will need to tune my bows and friends as well. Does anyone have a press recommendation or tools they would suggest to start out?

Again frustrated that shop couldn't get it right even with them carrying Hoyt's which is similiar cam system.

Thank you all for your help.
