Today at about noon my hunting partner came in and said "look out the window" - there were two small deer (no spots) playing around in the back yard. Over to the pond, then back again - then run to the south end.....
We watched them for about 15 minutes or so.
Then my father in law drops by and tells me there was a small deer at about 11:00 AM right behind his shed (about 20 feet from the house) - he was hanging around the apple tree. He didn't hang around for 15 minutes, though.
The tease is on - season starts in 10 days and we probably won't see a single deer. We got some good pics of the first two.
Is it possible that the does are running off the little ones getting ready for the rut?
