Does anyone have one. I've seen them use it on their show and it looks pretty neat. I would bet long shots would be much easier. They say you can shoot a rifle like your using a bench rest. The only thing I don't really like is the price $78 shipped  What do you guys think. Thanks

I saw it used in a video. Looks to me like you could get goat roped with the thing. JMO

Knight and Hale have really confused me lately with somet of the stuff they've endorsed........ seems like it's all about the $
Uhhh I think they are a business involved in the art of selling things? I would hope it is all about the money.

I have one of the Steady Rests. I use it testing bows and setting bows up and adjusting sights. It is also fantastic with long lens cameras and for turkey hunting with shotguns. A tad too wieldy for bowhunting from a treestand for me but that is probably just a lack of practice.

Handicapped buddy

My best friend and hunting partner fell out of a tree stand back in 1993. He broke his back in 3 places yet was able to get to his feet, walk to the edge of the woods before he collapsed and flagged down help. He as had several surgeries since this time.

He is still able to walk but has lost a lot of strength. He has a very difficult time in holding is bow at full draw. (Too much weight on his bow arm) Under MI DNR laws/rules..he doesn't qualify for a crossbow.

I am planning on getting one of these for him in hopes that this will allow him to once again be able to enjoy his hunting again.

The product has potential to help a lot of people.

I cant believe that he does not qualify for a Xbow. That is amazing, you just have to have a bum toe to get a permit here. Im not a big fan of Xbows but a person should be able to shoot one if he cant shoot a regular bow, Michigan DNR needs to take a look at that.

This product was pushed in last year's K&H hunting video set. My dad and I saw it and our first reaction was "you've got to be kidding me". I applaud their attempt to make a good living, but I seriously doubt anybody but a sucker would buy such a thing. I think it's hilarious. :p What's next... a portable hooter shooter?!?! :D

Baggin you might be on to something. Call Knight and Hale's research and development quick!! :D I saw this on a video I bought of their's, I think. At first I thought what a great idea. Then I saw them shoot with it on and thought how cumbersome it would be. And, for me, it would take away from some of the challenge.

:D All I can do is Laugh just thinking somebody will actually buy that .

wow...

D_Hunter... i don't see how this could help your friend since he is weak. the steady ready doesn't pull a bow back for you and it doesn't really even help you hold it. all it does is helps you hold the bow steady. myself i wouldn't give them the satisfaction of purchasing a steady ready. i mean Knight and Hale can't even take a crap without their steady ready. when will all of this nonsense stop. it is a gimmick that many people are falling for. i love hunting shows with 3 min. of hunting and 27min. of salesmen.

sorry...

D_Hunter i didn't see read all of your post thoroughly enough to see that your friend cannot hold the weight on his bow arm. i apologize and the steady ready could help him, since your DNR is heartless. i just don't see how someone cannot hold their bow up on thier own (barring an injury.) anyway... sorry.

You're kidding right?

That thing ranks right up there with draw locks. GIMMICK. I was not surprised to see Knight and Hale using these. No surprise those backwoods hillbilly yahoos would endorse that. Those guys know nothing about bowhunting and can use all the help (gimmicks) they can get.

What I find funny is that all of you who think it is funny, haven't ever tried it. As I said, I have one. I'll admit it was given to me. I don't hunt with it because I find it too cumbersome in a tree stand. I do intend to turkey hunt with it (shotgun) and I use it constantly when shooting pictures with long lens cameras.

It does, jeust exactly what they say it does. It helps you hold steady for extended periods of time and when you have certain shoulder problems. As I said, when I am testing or setting up bows or adjusting sights, I use it almost every time. It allows me to continue to hold dead steady even when I am getting tired. That allows me to eliminate that factor of human error.

I don't know about you, but for me, when I am working on a new bow or tuning up an old one, I like to be able to be dead certain it is the equipment that is off, not a human error. This device does that. It has also improved my longrange photography considerably.

Now I did laugh like hell the first time I saw a Whisker Biscuit. Of course, I now have seven of them and would use anything else.

Might as well pull ashooting machine into the woods with ya.

Gimmick. I wonder if these major companies are actively trying to hurt the sport or archery.
