I believe wraps make the arrow more visible and they’re easier to remove fletchings. Don’t really think there are any negatives to wraps. They weigh a few grains and the FOC will be fine.
It all depends on the use. It's a good way to add some individualization so you can ID them in a batch. Also a good way to locate them in the event of a miss or a pass through.
Worth it on hunting or 3D arrows IMO. Indoor target? Meh.
The whole FOC argument is subjective. I just don't like them in some situations because if you ruin one vane/feather, you end up rewrapping/refletching the entire arrow.
