"Fewer than 10% of all men can draw a 70 lbs speed bow".....
From what orifice did u pull that little tidbit of wisdom??? It never ceases to amaze me
Rather than giving this man advice on a good starting place, you chose to spend you post criticizing someone that did.
To answer your question; From experience.
What percentage of our population even goes to the gym consistently?
I have lived overseas and from what I've seen, I think 10% is a generous number.
I took my PSE BM32 and let some of my coworkers try to draw it after work.
No one could draw it.
No one sits on the job, everyone physically works hard. These are not weak people.
My son is 6'3" 270 lbs, plays football and basketball often, and he had a hard time.
The estimated average height for the human male across the world is approximately 5ft 8 1/2in.
Size maters, and most men sit at there job and rarely have much physical activity (even less after work).
Also, drawing a bow takes a special set of muscles that most people do not push hard.
But Obviously, you think you know better.
So, tell us all, from your experience, what do you think is a more realistic number? And why?
I'm not just talking about your friends at the archery range, this is for all adult males.
Take you 70 pound speed bow to work and see what happens.

Must be the humidity in Floriduh
With emphasis on obtaining an accurate and precise sample of the U.S. population, RM called ... *6.5 million (2.8 percent) participated in archery and bowhunting. And one-third of all archery participants last year were women.

Cool. Your poll represents 1.9% of the men.
If we assume that all of them are capable of shooting a 70 pound speed bow,
You’re still way short of 10%.
That means that you think 8.1% of all (nonarcher) men are stronger than I was when I started.
I'm 5'10.5" at 190lbs, and have always been physical activity.
And I was born in Alaska before it was a state, and have lived all over the world.
