My girlfriend got the ignite as a starter bow. A year later after shooting others shes stepping up to an elite spirit and selling her ignite to my 12 year old sister. My 12 year old cousin is also shooting one as his first bow. So that saying I think it is a terrific starter bow and for the price and the new color options for 2016. But that being said it lacks in areas. Most noticably in the backwall. There is none. It goes off the module and there is no draw stop pegs for limbs or cables. The module go in inch increments so while it can be adjusted from like 15 - 30 inches, its not small adjustments like most other bows. So i think its great to start but if you have experience with other bows and have shot a lot in the past you may not enjoy it. I know i didnt honestly. But for the price its a good bow and everyone has their own opinion. Go shoot it!

Too short for most adults, slow, terrible backwall (or lack thereof), only adjustable in 1" increments, and made in China. Honestly I dont think that bow is "good" for anyone at all. Now I'm not saying that it can't be shot accurately or that you cant hunt with the bow, but I'm saying there's not one reason that I would ever actually recommend it.

I'll second this. I picked one up because of the price when I switched to left handed and I wasn't sure what poundage I would use. I should have saved my money. I honestly do not know why manufacturers insist on using the plastic cam modules with the absolute sloppy back wall on them (the lower end Mission bows have the same style modules). You can't get a consistent anchor with this bow and it greatly effects accuracy. I could have dealt with the 1" increments and the other downsides... the horrible back wall, no.

The Ignite is a great bow for a young, still growing archer. My Son has been shooting his for the past 2 1/2 years with great results. The down side to the Ignite is the lack of back wall, and speed. Cams use Teflon bushings rather than sealed bearings also. I would recommend buying a used model bow in your dl/dw. I believe you would be much happier in the long run.

Depends what you are looking for. I have 3 in my house. My daughter still shoots hers, my son shot his all last year in 3d and did well. I bought myself one and set it up at 50# to shoot in my backyard...ended up really liking it. Yea the back wall is soft, but if you have a good anchor point it wasn't a problem for me. You could definitely kill dear with it. Now mine is used for my kids friends and my neighbor is going to use it to shoot this year to rehab a bad shoulder. At 299.00 I feel it's a great bow. Hoyt probably sells more of them than any other bow. Last fall I was at LAS one Saturday morning and they sold 3 while I was there. No complaints on mine.
