The riser does barrow from the technology found in barebow risers, in the way its weight is placed and the actual weight to make the bow more stable and to naturally dampen vibrations. This makes it have a really great feal for a compound bow. Its weight is no accident but is purposefully engineered for greater stabilization with short stabilizers, dampeners, or weights. Of course, you can use long stabilizers to if desired. Granted it is no speed demon but does have plenty of speed for good arrow trajectories 20 yards to 40 yards. Excellent for hunting. At 50M will require some arch in the shot, but so do target compound bows that are purposefully engenered for maximum accuracy at 50 M. with the equalizer yokes nothing will be as smooth as this bow. It is one of Darton's greatest patents. The bow is extremely quiet for a compound bow. I am sure an alerted animal will hear it unless there is a lot of regular ambient noise in the area. It is a reeally great bow.
