It has worked great for me in years past and I agree it is an awesome tool. I put really good data into it on my current bow setup and the sight tape it generated was a hot mess. I checked and re-checked everything, and finally got frustrated and quit trying. I need to give it another shot and try to figure out what is wrong. Sure would like to get a good tape printed!

 

I have never gotten the sight tapes to work ever. They are always the wrong size regardless of the settings I choose during printing. I hope you have better luck.

 

IMO, the sight tapes are the main reason to have the thing. I’ve never had a problem with them, although there are some tricks along the way.

I haven’t gotten to the sight tape part yet 😂 I built the arrow it told me to build and I’m shooting groups at various distances to calculate my velocity. Crossing my fingers

 

Why not just shoot all the different yardages and write down your sight settings on a piece of paper? You will probably do that anyway to verify the sight tape.

i tried the one of the sight mark programs, and it was wrong just about every yard. To me it is a waste of time.

 

Because that takes a ridiculous amount of time to 135 yards and is completely unnecessary.

Archers advantage is what most of the pros use, including Gillingham and broadwater.

It’s really pretty simple. Print a sight scale if your sight doesn’t have one. Get a short mark (I prefer 25-30 yards, a long mark, and a middle mark. The short and the long get the overall tape, and then if the middle mark doesn’t fall perfect I adjust the programs peep height until it does. Print it at 100% scale and you’re done.

I am using a Shibuya sight and I don't use sight tapes. I only shoot out to 80 yards for field matches.

What are you shooting out to 135 yards?

 

The total archery challenge has multiple 100+ yard shots. Other than that I won’t go that far.

 

Been using AA for years. Sight in at 25 and 70 yards, enter setup information. Print tapes and marks, and cut charts (up/down hill). If your marks aren't on you haven't setup the program correctly. I use it for Field rounds.

 

Love Archer's Advantage for sight tapes. It's been spot on every time for me. Shoot 20, shoot 80, input my numbers and the tape is spot on. The arrow selector...well..I have yet to get that to work for me. Every combo it always says is pegged too stiff.

 

AA has been driving me crazy lately... working on setting up a 3d arrow. at one point, I have BE Rampage shafts, 350spine, 150 up front. says slightly weak. ok.. check 300 spine.. stiff. ok... back to 350: "optimum spine" ***? it just said slightly weak..

 

Well maybe my issue is only inputting FPS. The tapes just aren’t matching up to my MBG tapes based on the same FPS. Maybe I’ll give it another try and give up after 1 more

 

You’re wasting your time doing it from inputting FPS, might as well give up now. Have it print a sight scale and input marks from that, or just don’t use it for tapes at all.

Yep..I'm going to be using the app this week with some PS23's...The way I figure it is there is no reason not to put the odds in your favor..I don't know how to do it..But...my buddy is a guru at it...FWIW

 

I think it has great value for $12 a year
It has quirks and can take some time getting use to it. And sometimes things will be slightly off, but all in all, hard to beat the price

 

I set my numbers at 30 and 60 and only shoot at a line not a round target .It will get you better numbers.
