I am not buying anymore Mucks and I am looking for an American made hunting boot. Rubber or leather is fine at this point. I checked out the following:

Danner- Imported
Kenetrek- Made in Italy
Lacrosse- Imported
Muck-China
Under Armor-China

Is there an actual company out there that makes great hunting boots made in America?

Look at Chippewa boots. I got a set of insulated logger boots to hunt in last year. Loved them. Great traction, thick supportive leather construction, waterproof, and made in USA. They also have an Arctic Leather logger that is supposed to be even warmer for colder climates. My thinsulate lined boots did just fine in the PA cold we had this year. They cost a little more than some of the other boots but you get what you pay for. Make sure you get the ones with the American Flag emblem on the laces, they are the US made ones. Some of Chippewas less expensive shoes and boots are imported.

Is it the Arctics? They have a white wooly lining. You can't go wrong with any of them. They are a very rugged and durable boot that are also comfortable.

Mine are the 9" Bay Apache Waterproof Insulated Super Logger #25408 for reference. They have 400 grams of Thinsulate Ultra.

I believe a lot of the older American boot companies that have military contracts make their boots in the U.S. Belleville and Bates come to mind. I have a couple of pairs of Belleville boots and they are great for hunting.

LL Bean has always advertised their Maine Hunting Shoes are "made in USA, one pair at a time." I hope that's true... But regardless, LL Bean is an awesome, iconic American company, and I think it's a good boot.

I work for Beans and I've been to the shoe factory in Lewiston. Every part and every pair of Bean Boots are made here in Maine by Mainers and that will never change. It what makes me proud to work for them and I love hunting in my Bean boots.

Another great boot company is Nick's but I will also second White's and Wesco boots. I have plantar fasciities and have always had problems with boots fitting comfortably - tried several brands and settled on White's for my work boot. The break in period is challenging but feet feel good at the end of the day. And made in the USA

Have you ever considered having a pair of custom boots made? Dad and done it a few times and he has been very satisfied. The quality isn't ecen comparable to production boots.

Red Wings are made in Red Wing, MN. I drive past the factory all the time. Not sure about the comfort or quality.
