Arrow Length

I received some arrows for Christmas that are a little longer than the previous ones that I've used. From the best that I can tell they're half an inch to an inch longer than my previous ones.

My question is:

Do I need to have them cut down to size, or can I shoot them how they are? I mean, would it really make that much difference that I'd need to have them cut down that half-one inch?

Nevermind. Took it to local shop and it only weighs 8.4 grain per inch and it's only a fourth of an inch. So it's no difference. Thanks anyways.
