Shot a 3d course today with some brand new targets and nearly threw my should out trying to get my arrows out of these targets.. what’s everyone using? Including diy options?

^^^^ There you go. I use those tiny motel bars of soap. Harder than Ivory and last longer. They just plain work.....
I've got bottle of Scorpion Venom in my bow case that's years old from not being used. Just there in case I need it. My sister and her husband used go all over world and she'd collect them tiny bars of soap me. I must have 100. France, Italy, China, Japan and other countries.

If you want to get high grade, there was Arrow Slick. Two stage prep, kind of a pain, but it'd last upwards of a 100 shots per arrow.

Rain or shine the bar soap is still great. Don't think it really makes a difference. I have arrow lube but the soap works just as well. Put a hole in it, run a small rope thru it & your set..

Have used Tire Shine Black Magic as an arrow lube for many years, works great & seems to last longer than most other lubes.

I use some "Reel Magic" on a rag. Using a method where you jack the arrow out by putting one hand around the arrow up against the target tight, and then close your grip tight. There is a muscle on the opposite of the thumb side of your hand that will expand as you grip tight and it creates a concentrated force, at the same time pull with it also and the other hand further back on the shaft. Repeat this several times, and "jack" that arrow out, keeping it straight. This way you don't bend aluminium arrows and outserts and things.

Some of the best stuff I have found is Bohning Lightning crossbow rail lube. It comes in a plastic blotter style bottle and works very well. A lot of stuff will work on 3D targets, but these pressboard backstops at the range I shoot at are something special. That stuff will weld itself onto your arrow. Most of the lubes I have tried are worthless for it.

Woody's was my original "go to" for 3D shooting. It works really well but has a distinct odor to it, so I only use it on my target arrows. I won't use it on my hunting arrows. I've also used Scorpion Venom and silicone dry lube and both work well. The arrow lube tubes or slick tubes work too but collect a lot of dirt & debris if left on my quiver belt in the back of my truck.
