Hello everyone, I hope I'm posting this in the right spot. I've been into shooting compound archery on and off for many years. In the last 3 or 4 years I have been learning to do most of my own tuning. My whole family of 5 all have our own bows so I get to tune them all... lol Recently, I've been helping my son tune up his Cruzer G2 and I've come across some strange issues that I can't seem to figure out.

1.) This bow has a peak weight of 70lbs. but with the limbs maxed out I was only getting 55lbs. I measured the ATA and sure enough it was too long. I threw it in the bow press and with a few twists here and there I had everything back into spec. I timed the cams and now maxed out I am getting 65lbs.

2.) Now with everything timed and in spec, I've noticed that when watching my son shoot the nock point is very high at full draw. The arrow is dead level and through the berger hole at rest, but when he comes to full draw the arrow is very out of square with the riser. Haven't started paper tuning yet to see how bad it's affecting flight but I was curious if anybody has ever had this issue before. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

First off, the Cruzer will never hit a full 70lb at lower draw lengths. Second would be to check all cable routing to make sure that is correct. Third, are you checking timing at rest or at full draw? Just because the cable runs through the timing marks the same doesn't actually mean that the stops will hit at the same time at full draw. if you haven't, you need to put the bow in a draw board so that you can actually see when the stops are hitting. My guess is that they aren't hitting together.

Thank you for your response. As for the max weight, I thought the draw length could be the cause. He's only shooting 26". And I did time the cams at full draw on the draw board. I didn't notice how high the nock point was until we were back outside shooting and then with an arrow nocked at full draw, using the cable rod as a rough reference line to eyeball. It seems way off. I realize of course that the cable rod is by no means a measuring device but that's just what made it stand out to me...

Another thing to check, because I've seen it happen before, is to make sure that both draw mods are set the same. If I remember right the Cruzer G2 uses different mods for 1 inch adjustments and another for 1/2 inch adjustment. Make sure the mods are the same as well.

Yep, I checked that as well. We just upped his draw length from 25" to 26" as he's gone through a bit of a growth spurt since he last shot this bow. He's using the 1' mods. I'll see if I can get a pic tomorrow so you can see the issue. Maybe it isn't as bad as it looks...
