Ive done alot of searching threads on here. And cant make a definitive choice. I'd like something like a parka style that I can use all year...in late season here it gets cold. I usually hunt around 5200 ft and in late winter in can get in the negatives with the wind chill.
So far I like the pnuma selkirk stuff but it's not a parka system (which I could live with) and it's pretty expensive...I'm use to cheap camo so I'd like to try some quality camo...best camo I've had is scentblocker which isn't saying much...lol.
I would like to have a lifetime warranty because i know if they offer a lifetime warranty it should be made really well.
Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated

Rivers West has a 10 year warranty & I have had some of there stuff for 6 years & still working well
you might take a look at their lines.

what kind of warranty? the only 2 I know who have a good (almost) unconditional warranties are rivers west, and pnuma. around here the rivers west warranty is useless, because you have to send them in, they will be leaking in short order, and by the time you get them back, the season will be over. we call them "rivers wet"

might be fine for some areas where it doesn't rain a lot, and your gear isn't exposed to brush, but they are worthless here.

I have not tried pnuma, but I think I will. for raingear, I think kuiu is the best for the money, but I did email pnuma, explained I was going to ruin raingear, and wanted to give them the option of not dealing with me, they said they would be happy to have my business, so they are serious about their products.

I think it's a mistake to but one jacket for all conditions. I think a rain jacket needs to be a shell, and wear your insulating layers under it. I don't know there is a good option period for insulated raingear, that actually works. I think a good rain shell with some good baselayers and a quality synthetic puffy is a much better option.

for the money I would buy several pairs of red head or cabelas brand stuff, you tear it or starts leaking and ya throw it away. or put on a different set while the others are drying

I lived in NC and have never found it really cold even during the blizzard of 93

I would just get sitka, kuiu, or first lite and forget about the lifetime warranty. Heck , I would be surprised if the few companies that offer that are even around in 5 years.

Just a heads up..

Kryptek is not lifetime warranty.

"Kryptek products are fully warranted to the original owner against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of up to 1 year from the date of original purchase excluding normal wear and tear."

The thing to watch for too, depending on sizes needed is availability. I looked into Kryptek, Pnuma, Badlands and none of them had my size available. So if you’re tall and skinny like myself you may want to plan ahead. I ended up ordering Sitka and I ended up sending it back because it was too small, I need their “long” pants which few other manufacturers had. Just something to consider.
