I only fletch 6 to 10 arrows a year. Goat tuff did well but less than a year and hole bottle was dried up. In a pinch did some with supper glue gel but does not hold Blazers to Gold tip shafts well.

One of the reasons people run into problems with the Loctite or any other fletching glue for that matter, is they use way too much glue. Less is more and you will get a better bond and a cleaner looking job with very little glue. I put 3-4 small dots on and then spread it evenly in the trough of the vane with a toothpick.

Buy any glue you want. Done using put it in the refrigerator - last for years.

I use the glue that's made for fletching, Bohning Platinum.

Paramount is arrow prep.............

X2 especially the importance of prep.

I use the little tubes from harbor freight. I get almost a dozen arrows from one tube. Then I toss any tube that I've opened. It's so cheap, I don't mind.

Cold it does come out slower, but it also warms fairly quick. Cold, squeeze a little and it keeps coming so be fast with the cap........No effect of adhesion. I turn my arrows every 7 minutes if that helps. Of course the vane and arrow are at room temperature.

Small tube of Loctite ultra gel in the possibles bag and bigger container Loctite 401 works for me.
I do find it interesting regarding arrow and vane prep before fletching. I usually just make sure all previous glue remnants are well scapped off, wipe with a clean cloth and fletch. No fletching has wizzed off half way to the target ever IF I use Loctite.

Just started making my own arrows and I bought two tubes of the fletchtite platinum. I clean the shaft with acetone and even wipe the mating surface of the blazers I use with it too. I'm not a huge fan of it after a few weeks of shooting. It seems to be a softer glue. I know when I take the vanes off of a gold tip, the stuff they use is hard. I also took some vanes off of an arrow my buddy glued with some random stuff and it was harder as well. Not sure if it's related but that's my observation.

Been using an Arizona ez-fletch mini to fletch these puppies. I let each one sit in it for 10min, the instructions only say 5min. The first batch I did, I was shooting vanes off all the time. I tried to minimize squeeze out on my first batch by using a smaller amount of glue and spreading it out with a toothpick but every fletching that doesn't have glue oozed out the side I can pull off with little effort so I went back a refletched them all. Matter of fact last night I did three arrows and decided I wanted to try and clean up the excess glue a little so after pulling them out of the jig I gently ran my knife down the vane to break the extra glue free and used some acetone to clean it up. This could compromise the integrity of the bond but it was just a test and time will tell.

Maybe one day I won't be so OCD and just live with the excess glue.
