I have never used a decoy before and wanted to try, any recommendations on a specific buck decoy you like and what do you like about it?

the Flambeau decoy that you can remove the antlers, for when you just want a does
klightweight to carrry, a little noisy puttingthe legs on or carrrying it through brush trees
I carry it in once and leave it in the woods ...
mine is going on 20 years, he/she still looks good, price has not really gone up either

Dave smith is the best by far, but is extremely expensive. I have a carry lite that has worked for me, I prefer it over the boss buck. The boss buck almost seems to big.
Best DSD, do the deer care probably not. Have had the best luck with the old carry lite no one makes anymore, Flambeu scrapper buck looks similar enough.
Had great luck with the Carry Lite, but I don't think they're in business anymore? I've tried the Boss Buck, but it is def bigger and I haven't had as much luck.
I love using decoys. Here is a couple of my responses to similar threads. LESS is more when decoying I think. This blow up doll like decoy was awesome, wish I never returned it to Cabelas! LOL..

I've owned them all but the DSD. The weight is the biggest draw back for full sized decoys. If you could magically beam them into place, then that would be awesome.
For me, I've carried my full size decoys way to much, painful to be honest. I hike in pretty far to some of my locations and it isn't worth it. I bought the Montana decoys, I've got 5, and they have been great. I've used those far more because I can put 5 of them bungied onto the back of my Lone Wolf climber and it is a breeze. They take about the same amount of time to set up as a full size decoy.
Movement is a big help too. I had a wagging tail installed on my Primos Scar, which was nice. But, it too was just to heavy to haul in. I found myself only taking it a few times a season. The Flameau decoys were the worst I owned, noisy and they tended to fall over. The Rheinhard Doloma decoys were about the best for movement, lightness, and ease of packing in and set up. IN the current market, that is what I'd get ALONG with a Montana Decoy.
Only issue with the Montana 2D is no movement AND they disappear WHEN the buck tries to mount them! Had it happen more then once and the bucks freaked out. I ended up buying a couple more and I set them up so that a full view is available from every angle.
The Ultimate Predator Wind Drifter is awesome. However, the new ownership may have discontinued them. Call and check and see. Great movement, as light as Montana 2D decoys, NO noise, the easiest to set up. Best I think. They also carry the Stalker decoys to use for spot and stalk to mount to the front of your bow, and that is an amazing set up too which I love on private land during bow season.
My 1st decoy was this blow up doll Rudolph looking thing! Worked, brought in a 13 pointer to about 50 yards. Was a pain to blow up and I ended up getting my first 3D Primos Scar decoy. In hind sight, it was better then most of the other realistic looking decoys I've owned.
