Boots and scent control

I’ve always hunted whitetail with rubber boots due to the idea of scent control, but they hurt my feet walking anything over a mile. Want to get more comfortable boots but am worried about controlling my scent. How many of you hunt with non-rubber boots, and thoughts on the theory?

To control your scent as in the scent on the inside or outside of your boots?

Every set of rubber boots I've worn my feet sweat like in nothing else. That scent escapes somewhere.

I've hunted whitetails for years in everything from walmart garbage boots I've worn for mechanics and everything else(gas/oil/sweat....all of it), to rubber boots to a couple times I sat in the stand barefoot cus it got so hot my feet were on fire in my rubber boots.

I hit them with DDW spray and wander to my stand. I suppose the argument could be made that I didn't see what I "might" have. But I'm always the most successful in my hunting party.

I always wear rubber boots for whitetails. I built a PVC boot stand for leaving them upside down outside to air out. Once season starts they're either in my truck bed, or in the landscaping outside my garage, or on my feet hunting. I do not have deer smell where i've walked. I'm not really a scent control person, but i don't skimp on keeping my boots scent free. With that said, try out some different brands. They all fit differently for different feet. The dark green original lacrosse alpha burlys are under rated for comfort. Price is right too!
