I would skip the rage, use a steel force phat head, stinger or other good quality fixed head, the mechanical will reduce your penetration and a moose is certainly no tiny deer!

I'll be using 125gr Exodus on my moose hunt this year. And I agree with others, stay away from mechanicals.

 

125 gr. Magnus Stinger ( 2 blade ) make sure it is sharp. Main blade grinds that come from the factory are not sharp enough! The chisel points from the factory are OK however, the main grind needs finishing work IMO. Use one of the sharpening jigs available so the Broad Head remains balanced.

The very best hunting Broad Heads are Ed Ashby's ( the most expensive and worth it. )

 

For moose I'd use either a magnus buzzcut 2 blade or G5 Strikers!

Exodus. 125gr. Use some heavier arrows - definitely nothing less than 550 gr (including BH)

I'd be surprised if mechanicals are even legal for moose. Depends on the state.

 

I'm still not fully decided myself, but am leaning toward Slick Trick Magnums for my moose hunt this fall.

 

I've used slick trick stds for elk for years. The Exodus will penetrate better, but only 3 blades versus 4. I don't think having 1 more blade makes that much difference.
If you hit a vital or slice a major artery, the sucker will be dead. Penetration is more important though, and that is why I choose the exodus.

I have also used steel force phats, and muzzy 3 blades. The Exodus penetrates the best of all, and are tough little suckers.

Another good one is wackem 3 blades for penetration.

I'll be using Grim Reaper 1 3/8" Razortip this year on my moose hunt. I'll also be carrying 100 grain Thunderhead Edge fixed blade broadheads in my quiver. Should be a good year.

 

Personally I would use a strickland Helix but I think you would be okay with the exodus.

 

I too am going on my first moose hunt this year and will be using these @ 125 gr with a 75 gr inserted FMJ. Love how they fly.

I used 125gr Magnus Buzzcuts 4blades last year on my moose. 427gr arrow, 59lbs draw weight and a complete quartering to pass through.

 

The Exodus would be awesome on moose; it would be my first choice. I have taken Wildebeest, Gemsbok, Kudu, Bull Elk, and Bear with the Exodus. They have an incredible balance of cut size, penetration, flight, and durability.

 

yup we got a bull tag in nothern ontario and 3 of 4 shooters are using Exodus. the 4th still likes his mechanicals

 

Moose are bigger I would probably go with a magnus stinger 2 blade with bleeders. I would bet you would be fine with mech. but I would go with a good fixed blade. Also you should check what the local laws require you to use on moose

I am blowing thru my broadhead targets with the Exodus Swepts.
The 2 or 3 models of Slick Tricks I shot before the Exodus didnt have the penetration that the Exodus are showing.

I would use the Exodus without a doubt. Very strong, flies well and very sharp. I have hunted moose 6 times and took my first bull with a 3 blade out of my longbow. I would also use a heavier arrow. Good luck.
