Carrie Underwood and Dick's Sporting Goods Huh

So, it doesnt look like she is necessarily anti-hunting. Humane societies do more than protest hunting.
No. She is anti hunting. Years ago, I attended a hunting sporting goods expo in Mississippi. Lots of TV hunters were there promoting their stuff. The topic of the week was a concert that she canceled her participation in because the proceeds were going to make a wish foundation, which she was fine with, until she found out one of the kids wanted to go on a deer hunt. This was in 2003, maybe. Never made the news, but that's the first time I heard she's an anti hunting advocate. Since then, she has given money and promoted anti hunting organizations throughout her career. If anyone thinks PETA and HSUS is not anti hunting organizations, you haven't done your research.

She has stated she is NOT anti-hunting, she is vegetarian for health reasons, not animal reasons. Yes she donated to HSUS, but do you really think SHE donated or her management/financial team did.

She is married to a hunter, friends with a bunch of hunters and is from a hunting family.
This is her and her check. This wasn't given by her "management team".

Doesn't bother me. Carrie Underwood is hot. To each their own. I will still purchase from DSG. Not sure what any of her clothing line has to do with hunting unless it was anti-hunting clothing. DSG isn't going to stop carrying hunting gear. Who cares?
Typical answer from a representative of the millions of hunters that don't care. Every year, the groups she supports spends millions to stop hunting. Like this past election in Maine to stop bear hunting. And they promise to keep trying until they win, and the HSUS has over 160 million to use to do it. Yet she's "hot", so it's not a problem.

Or what Jacobh said, would you turn down millions? No. Neither would she. Her one time donation (or even multiple times if she did) has no correlation to DSG! People are reading way too much into this. So she signed a contract with DSG. She's not running for president. If she signed a contract with Remington or PSE then I might question why.
I'm not concerned with how she gets her money, I'm concerned how she spends it, and even more concerned that my fellow hunters will dismiss her support of Anti hunting groups because she's "hot", or because she's married to a hunter, or because she hasn't said she's anti hunting.

Carrie underwood is worth an excess of 70 million$. This contract means nothing to her bank account, and I couldn't care less. But call her what she is, and be honest about it.

I judge her by her actions and they prove she's an anti hunting advocate.
DSGs will have to handle critics as they see fit. That's their problem.

How do u guys know so much about all these organizations? No matter what the subject is people come on here and rattle off stuff that makes me think boy Im either really stupid or yall have too much time on your hands
Because some of us spend time actually fighting for our rights to hunt. When you take on an anti hunting organization that takes in over 100 million a year, you do your research. HSUS has been in EVERY state trying to shut down different types of hunting. They give Millions to politicians, and as some posters here pointed out, they take the money. Just like she did, only she will cont. to support HSUS and PETA to stop hunting where ever they can. Where do you live? Try to find out how the HSUS helps animals in your state. Then come back here and discuss it.

Ok but can u honestly tell me everything thing on the Internet is factual? So how do we know what we read is true or not? We don't hence this thread and many others. We base it on what we think is true.
Seriously, you don't know how to do this? You find a source, you double check it with other sources. CREDIBLE Sources, like news services, established sites, articles and interviews. If you can find one source that says she doesn't support PETA or HSUS, please show it. And go to HSUS and PETA, see what they do and where the money comes from and what they REALLY do with it.

I posted a article she has deer heads hanging in her house!!!!! Multiple sites must be true so that to me say she's not a anti Hunter. Yes she may not hunt or fund the NRA heaven for bid but Id go out on a limb and say a anti PETA member won't have deer heads hanging in their house. Yes I get it Humaine society is against hunting but they also provide shelter to abandoned and abused animals. Do u know for a fact that's not what her money was intended for? Did u actually talk to her and she told u that that money was used to fight hunting rights? If not its speculation
Again, your wrong. HSUS does not run shelters. They don't save animals. They do spend millions to stop hunting. If you want info on them it's out there. Anyone can find it. Your confusing them with the American humane society, which actually DOES provide for shelters and animal care.

There are hundreds of links proving who they are, and dozens of articles like this one . All you have to do is look.

Ok that's fine but have u bought muck boots a Ferber knife shopped at Walmart cvs??? Facts are we all have spent $$ and places that support these groups but since Carrie Underwood is a Celeb now it's a big deal
No. I have not. I don't support businesses that are antihunting. I find out who supports these groups and I write them and email them and tell them why. If the millions of hunters would stick together and do that, we wouldn't have to worry about them.

There was a thread here about the muck boot mess when it happened. Many of us here notified muck boots, and in 24 hrs they had a completely different story. They assured us they wouldn't donate to HSUS. So public input has some effect, and with the Ability we have today on social media, there is no excuse to not voice your stance.

I just received a response from DSG regarding my email I sent them. They are going to pass my concerns to management and comply a list of responses to this new development.
If only 1 out of 10,000 hunters would email them voicing an opinion in support of hunting...

You keep quoting stuff for 2008-2011. Frankly that is a lifetime ago and people change their position on things over time as they learn more about the subjects (keep in mind she married a hunter since 2008). Maybe she did make a contribution to HSUS in 2009 and maybe she knew the difference between the local animal shelter human societies and the anti-hunting group...or maybe she didn't. I can't see the entire article for the Liberty Voice and its not dated, but conservatives can stretch the facts to fit their agendas too (I am a card carrying right wing conservative so I can say that!), but that, of course, is ok since they are presumably on our side. Does the article somewhere say that she is anti-hunting or that she simply likes furry critters and wouldn't shoot one to eat it and lets that imply that she is anti-hunting/guns.

My 30 yr old daughter, who I love dearly, won't hunt, she doesn't even like catching mice in a kill trap. She rarely eats meat, not because she is anti-hunting but because she just feels better physically and philosphically. I can respect anyone who objects to killing animals if they themselves don't benefit from it. On the other hand, her husband hunts with me nearly every weekend during hunting season while she and my wife sit at the cabin and...well I don't know what they do but they're there . She won't help track a wounded deer or gut one, or process the meat...although she'll write the date on the packages and clean the grinder when we're done. Does that mean I should vilify her for her position. The only difference between my daughter and Carrie Underwood is the amount of money her the respective bank accounts. And, the both stand proudly for some things that are whole lot more important than hunting.
I can post 100 links more recent, or you could actually google it yourself. In the amount of time it took you to tell us all about your family you could have found all the info you wanted. I don't care if your daughter doesn't want to hunt. That's not the point.

The POINT is, unlike your daughter, the HSUS is spending millions every year to stop hunting. Period. They get this money from rich people, like Carrie underwood, who not only supports HSUS, but is a PETA spokesperson and is listed as such on the PETA site.

You obviously have politics mixed up with hunting supporters. This is not political issue unless YOU make it one. It's a HUNTING issue.

And of course, Carrie Underwood couldn't possibly make similar mistake. If she did she'd just be another stupid blonde...albeit a very attractive, talented and wealthy one!
Again, if you look up the thread here about muck boots, you'll see the original press releases and FB posts before MUCK got hammered for it and changed the story. The money went to HSUS. 24 hrs later they donated an equal amount to a local shelter and said it was a mistake.

I don't think I have anything mixed up...it is about politics. Until HSUS, Peta, et al get the laws changed it doesn't matter what the likes of Carrie Underwood think. Laws are changed by politicians....so the next time you step in to the voting booth be sure you know as much about the candidates position in such things as animal rights and the 2nd amendment as you do about where a country music singer spends her money. And, while you're at it, break out your wallet and make a contribution to the NRA, REF, SCI, DU and any other pro hunting organization you can think of.
I do. I also get on here and ask others to do so. I send emails and messages about these concerns almost everyday. And believe it or not, they DO respond and listen. How many did you send this week? This month?

She might thought she was helping animals get rescued and didn't know their stance on hunting.
As someone pointed out previously, she has publicity management people that are paid to make sure nothing happens that she don't know about. She had made numerous comments in interviews about her spokesperson role for PETA and the role she played in the fight against using fur and killing animals for fur use, which includes trapping and predator hunting. I think she knew.
