Had some requests to do a review on the Crosman crossbow... pretty sweet for under $275.00... also great if you are looking for a back up!
Fa whats your ventilators meter out on that thing ? Say with an arrow that it does the same speed as the centerpoint
It is pretty well explained and goes through step by step what he did. Lots of pictures and information. If you haven't read the post, I would recommend it.I'm interested in a kit. This doesn't affect ADF or ability to uncock the bow, right?
Any word if CP improved the trigger for 2017?Roddy is correct. There is a mod. for the Sniper trigger. Look for a post in the "Gear Review" section titled "Center Point Sniper 370". Page 19 is where the discussion takes off.
Looney developed a way to remove 50% of the trigger travel with a simple mod. to the trigger mechanism. The factory 1/2" of pull is reduced to 1/4" of travel and it could be made even less if you really wanted to.
Simply put, it's a physical stop added to the trigger rocker and a mild change to the pin it drives. Just .020 of a change to the pin will make a huge difference in the trigger. This work preserves the shear relationship of the trigger rocker for safety. The internal spring also can be changed which will change trigger pressure. That's being worked on as well. If we can replicate the test spring Looney has used with one that has the physical and compression characteristics we need, you will see your Sniper trigger pressure drop from 5+ lbs to about 3-3.5 lbs.

I've been shooting my Sniper with the travel mod. for about a week. It certainly changes the character of the xbow. No more serious concentration necessary on those long shots. It's the only critique I've had of the xbow since I first started shooting it and now the trigger matches the performance of the rest of the xbow.
If you are a DIY I can send you a drawing for this piece. If you're interested in a kit, I've got 50 being made by a local machinist and they will be available to any of the folks on the Forum. Price will likely be about $50.
