choosing x10 spine

So i´m finaly at a level (around 620/70m) where I can justify to myself (kind of) to buy a set of x10.
I shoot an mk z riser with 38 pound mk zest limbs, 45 pounds otf. Current arrow lenght
is 30,5 inch nock groove to point and 29,5 without the point. My clicker is set a little over one inch in
front of the plunger. They are 500 parallel carbon arrows (paragon) and tune reasonably well.
I plan to use beiter pin knocks and 120 grain tungsten points.

The easton chart shows 450 at 30 inches, which would give me a total arrow lenght around 30,5 inches
with the tungsten points. Now I´m thinking that this would give me very little room to cut the arrow shorter
if it shows to be stiff... Should I buy 410 instead ?

Also, is it a good idea to buy a cheaper arrow of the same T-group like an acc to do some testing ?

I would think those might be a tad weak actually. IM experience I tune 450s about the same length and points at around 42-44#. I shoot a similar setup too. Depends on a lot of other variables too. I might look at the trade of between the 450s at that length and an inch shorter, or 410s an inch longer.

450 might be right, but I'd cut arrows 3/4 longer and go with 410s. My arrows are one spine stiffer than the chart suggests and 450s are good with 43# for me. Of course everyone is different and I've seen similar setups with both 500s and 450s.

Everyone is different but the chart seems to be a spine stiffer for both me and my son. If the chart says 500's the 550's seem to tune the best. I have also heard this from several other recurve archers as well that we shoot with. Alot of variables come into play but trying some ACE to start might save some $$$ down the road later. Or you could possibly buy 6 x10's I believe Lancaster might sell them individually. Just when you order more be aware of the same weigh series C 1234. Good luck and good shooting

Man you guys use stiff arrows. I shot 410 X10's with just a slight tail trim, at 48# and 32.25" long!

But then I've always used weaker arrows than most others for whatever reason. My brother used 410's at 45# and 32"

tisbatman, I would go with the 450's. If you find they are weak for whatever reason, you can always adjust your limb bolts, use a heavier string, use pin nocks, or only trim from the rear. Any of those things will get you nearly 1/2 size stiffer reaction.

Thank you everybody !

I´m leaning a bit more towards the 450s, I´d prefer going down in poundage than up.
Also, I will be using pin knocks, wraps and an 18 strand string which should stiffen them a bit. I know a lot
of people do it, but I would be reluctant to cut from the back. I want that full "forgiveness" of that weak spined back haha.

A member of my club has some old 430 and 470 ace he doesn´t use anymore, I will test them first.
