Hey Chris! I was rooting for you thoughout the whole series. I think a lot of folks were rooting for you!
Congatulations and great shooting! Good luck with the kid(s) in college!
(Loved the way you nailed that bow shot on 1st try. I thought the other guy was never going to make that one)!

I think he threw the 25ft shot, but not the second one. It was a little odd, but not breaking any rules. Nobody will know the real story. Any 4 of them could have won that day. Each one of them shot all the weapons and completed. I think Chris did an outstanding job, and deserved what he got.

It would be interesting to see what Brian Zins thought about it, but in the long run, he lost the last competition in the end.

All along I thought George was a total D-bag, but after the threw the competition to let Chris back in, my opinion of him changed. I think the turning point was when Colby asked what they would do with the money, and George replied that he would buy a bunch of guns. Chris and Gunny were going to pay for their kids' education. I think that's what changed it for George. He said you would have to decide for yourself if he threw it, but come on, you would have to be in denial to think he could miss a 25 ft. shot on that bid ol' target with any pistol. After all of George's cockiness he actually came off kind of classy at the end. Way to go fellas!

I think George shanked both of them,by his choice i mean.I think it got to him when he said I feel bad for saying I was going to buy guns and Chris is saying he needs it for his kids. The funniest part is that other guy Gunny, in the final shoot off not being able to shoot the 1022.I liked Chris better than most of those guys.Though I do think even though Jay was super annoying he got hosed for not being in their little group.

Glad to hear Chris won, I was pulling for him from the start. But have to say this thread messed it up for me, since I am over seas and the wife was recording the final eposide for me.

just one thing to note about George and his "******bag" attitude. Alot of these "interviews" are edited to give these competitors a type. From what I've heard, George isn't like that nor is he a complete ******bag to everyone. As an editor, I believe that alot of these "interviews" when people are being jerks and stuff when they're on camera feels quite bogus and it's probably edited to look like that. I personally would hold my opinion of whether competitor A is a jerk or competitor "B" is waaaay too cocky for his own good.
You're better off knowing them in person than to believe everything you see on tv.

Well we won't really know for sure, but I think there was more to it than simply that George wanted to buy guns with the winnings, and the other 2 wanted to put kids through school, etc etc. I mean, they all must have talked about that stuff already. That video taped conversation you heard on that, was canned (I suspect...which doesn't make it not true. but they probaly coached them on how to say what they wanted to convey...IMO).

I also suspect that George figured he couldn't win against Brian Zins in the final competition (yes that's what I think), and also he and Chris had been friends (that part I believe), and he wanted Chris to win over Brian. When George saw that Chris was choking in the pre-final elimination rounds, he had to make a decision...either him or Chris up against Brian. I think he made the right choice. If he had chosen himself, Brian Zins would have won, and I think he knew that.

Either way, I think Chris deserves his victory to the the fullest. Because being topshot, isn't just about shooting weapons. It's also about sportsmanship, and sportsmanship includes "team playership" if you will, and the fact that Chris and George made friends, which helped Chris win in the final rounds, well...there is nothing unfair or illegal about that.

Now it would be illegal if (let's say), Chris paid off George later. But I'm pretty certain the TOP SHOT Lawyers made sure and had these guys sign documents which would void their winnings if they were caught doing something like that. So the odds of there being any collusion is pretty much 'NIL.

I don't agree with the above. George was definitely a good enough shot to beat Gunney (and would have, in my opinion), and I think his decision to throw the shot to Chris had to do more with their friendship than him thinking that he couldn't win.

If you watch the "Behind the Shot" special they paint a whole different picture of George, and give a much better insight into the group that wound up making it to the final four. I'm also one of the guys that hated George throughout most of the series but changed my mind when he threw his shot (nobody that was really THAT much of a d bag would throw their shot for anyone).

That whole show has turned into another reality 'soap opera' .....with some shooting thrown in.

I'd be far more interested in the outcome if performance, and performance alone, determined who stayed and who went. As long as they let the contestants decide whom to send to elimination, it's just another 'real world' or 'jersey' shore'. :)

That is true, but the "reality soap" aspect of it is 99% producer driven. They probably made these competitors play off a miniseries to go along with the competition. In the end, the main point of this show is the marksmanship and it still achieves it.
I wish the next top shot will put those in the bottom 2 into the elimination rather than having people vote each other out, maybe with the twist being the 2 going into elimination still has to be the losing team. then I wouldn't be so damn bothered by some of the elimination picks.

I dont agree with the above either. I think George had as much confidence going into it as anyone...and he could flat out shoot. He also does not seem to be one to not want to compete, regardless of who he is competing against.

I have a hard time saying the guys who never had to go to an elimination round were the best shooters...but they played the game the best. Chris having won the last elimination round the way he did.. wow. I am glad he took it.

Yeah, on this point, we all know George can walk the walk. He's a brilliant marksman. Cocky, but he can back it up. Brian Zins is also an amazing marksman. These guys are all here for a darn good reason and they're extremely brilliant and are very good at what they do. No matter who the final 2 would be, it would be neck and neck and I don't see it any other way.
I think that George is a competitor. He threw that 25yard shot because he wanted a fair competition. He knew Chris had a really really bad day and no competitor would want to win against someone who had a bad day.
Yes, I hated George and Jay throughout the competition, but these two guys especially showed that they are damn good and that alot of their attitude can be backed up with their skills. They weren't abusive to the other competitors so I don't have any problems whatsoever if they win.
All in all, I strongly believe that George is not the type of person to say, "oh I don't think I can win against Brian so I'm going let Chris win." I believe he got eliminated because he leveled the playing field with Chris and had the last shot decide who will go, which is more competitive than anything else.
