Any of you have any deer hunting pools going on with your buddies (i.e. biggest deer, the most, biggest rack, the smallest, etc.)

Just curious to see if anbody else has done this or thought about it.

My local archery shop has pools every year. So far the biggest buck taken was an archery buck from NH scoring around 150 inches. That's gonna be a tough archery buck to top in New England.

Yes as you know here in La. we can kill up to 6 bucks. Well, me my brother and three other friends have a bet we do every year. We each put up $35.00 $10.00 of that $35 goes to big buck and big buck is determined my P&Y score. The rest goes to most points like, if I kill two 5 points thats 10 points that is added to my score. For exmple last year I killed 2-8pts 1-9pt and a spike so it gave me 27pts which was enough to win and my 9pt took big buck so I made out with $175.00 :p

We used to havea big buck contest. Everybody would pitch in $20 and winner at end of season got the pot.

between my buddy and I whoever gets the bigger buck, the other guy has to buy the bottle and a case of beer, then we sit down and the winner gets to rub it in all night long until the case is gone.usually a good after season drunk.

Every year we have a buck bet. We take $5 and throw it into the pot. We take the number of points plus the spread and add it together, whoever gets the largest combined score wins the money. If there is a tie, we break it by the length of the G2's. We also throw a dollar in a pot and the first person to harvest the first buck wins that money (this year that was me). And I am also winning our buck bet as of right now.

My uncle and my three cousins have a yearly bet. It's not just bucks.
First, Biggest, and Most. 5 dollars per category. We're in Missouri,so turkeys count towards first and most. A deer with horns beats a big doe. I'm in a county that has four points on one side restrictions. I passed a five pointer that would have took biggest so far. I got a kid on the way and should arrive this week, supposedly, so if not for the restrictions, I probably would have took that deer. It was at five yards quartering away and completely clueless.
I hope to hunt a couple more times this year, so who knows.
sparrowhawk.

In the past, we would bet $50 bucks a piece (about 5 guys), and winner take all. I was disallowed to join last year because I moved from Michigan to Ohio. I would have won with the 9 pt. I shot. Same goes this year. I am in OH and won't be allowed to join in on the fun.

I would have to pass on the case of beer thing because I know my buddies would try to drink as much of it as they could...Just give me the money and I will take care of the beer by myself.

Now we do have a congratulatory case rule which is often comlimented with a bottle

Our local archery shop always gets a few pools going. Biggest buck, biggest doe, that sort of thing. I always enter the big doe contest, but only enter the big buck pool during even numbered years. All four of my P&Y bucks were taken in even years. 1988, 1996, 2002, 2004. Never even shot a buck during an odd year. I will be in for sure next year (2006)
