Wondering if anyone has tried using their Deer target as a decoy? If so how much luck did you have?

I used one years ago and had a big buck take off for the hills...I mistakenly placed him facing towards the thicket and as I was climbing into my stand in pitch black dark I heard a deer go crashing through the thicket, it sounded like a kid running down a picket fence dragging a stick...except it was antlers going through saplings etc. I've never used one again. If you place it facing into the area you expect the deer to come from...well the deer see it and think that it is staring in their direction because of danger behind them.

I was gun hunting several years ago and was hunting out of a box stand in a wrp field. First time I ever used one, I had four lanes about 35' wide each to watch. Every time I turned to the lane I had put the decoy in it startled me and I tried to grab my gun  That was the last time I used a decoy.

I've taken the legs and antlers off a Delta target and used it as a bedded doe with a buck decoy within a few feet over it. The problem was I was trying it out too late for the rut, but it looked really good like a buck had a doe pinned down from running her.
