wondered the same thing, seems the GA boys could answer this.

 

I hunt a farm that used to have a couple a peach and pear trees...... Bucks were pretty damn enticed to come eat the fruit -- then the owner got some horses that girdled the bark on the trees and they died -- still have great memories of those trees!!

 

Thanks that is all I needed to hear now I am off to put some out with my apples and corn. I will post some pictures in a week..

 

Well, it seems as though the eat birds.....so I guess peaches are not out of the question.:wink:

 

Yeah, way before there ripe enough for us.

 

They'll eat them all off my trees every year. I'd like to watch them do it though to see how they handle the pit.

 

That is hilarious isn't it.

They love peaches. It may take them a few days to figure out they can eat them if they have never seen them before but boy when the do start.

I don't mean to hijack but someone told me about a week ago that deer love pumpkins. Can anyone shed light on whether this is true or not?

 

Yes they will eat pumpkins too but they prefer that you smash them up first so they don't have to figure out how to open them.

I also dont mean to hijack but last weekend I was wondering if deer like pears. We have a pear tree that is really putting them off this year. Ever seen a deer who liked pears?

deer love pears! we feed them about 40 5 gallon bucket fulls every year! watch out were you put your feet though seeing as it gives them diarrhea but they love it

but the peaches will all be gone by Oct 1. They do eat perssimons and they will be in season.

 

I used to hunt a peach orchard. Easy pickins to hide at the opposite end from where the deer came in and have all the shooting lanes you needed.
