Since parallel limb bows seem to have a greater #/turn change than non-parallel style limbs Hoyt has changed their guidelines.
They tell you the bow has a 10# adjustment, don't go below that. Hoyt recommends you shoot the bow a maximum of 10# below the peak draw weight.
Never take the limb bolts out more than 8 turns. It should never take you 8 turns to go down 10#, my guess is that this statement is related to working on/pressing the bow.
Will the bows go down farther than 10#, yes. And are they safe to shoot there, probably. There are several ways to reduce your draw weight below the 10# mark, including more turns off the limb bolts or string/cable adjustments. I recommend that you let you dealer make those kind of adjustment to ensure safety.
