Oh boy now the work starts:wink: Id start by calling youre outfitter and ask what he recomends and start there alot depends on the hunt type
(drop camp / ride in) ect #1 good broke in boots, #2 hydration setup

 

You certainly need to first contact your outfitter and ask what equipment you will need to bring. Second you need to take off running. When you get tired stop for about 20 minutes to rest then start running again. You will need to repeat this until the day before your hunt. All kidding aside your hunt will go much better if your are in shape. I would purchase a handful of calls and start learning some technique. I would buy Primos Truth series 1-9. Those videos will have you worked to a frenzy by the time your hunt rolls around. Lastly, prepare yourself for the most exciting bowhunting bar none. The Gila is beautiful and full of elk you are going to love it. Good luck.

 

You lucky dog. Some of the BEST elk country in the world. Get in Shape and Hunt around bear wallow. Ive hunted a lot rougher country but it will still wear me out if Im not in shape. Let me know if you need anything (3.5 hours away) good luck
