All new arrows coming: New Archery Gear For 2024

But Pro Comp still shows on Easton's sight.

 

Hopefully they keep them, the X10's are almost twice the cost and the pro comps are awesome arrows.

 

I was watching an ElkShape video on youtube that was released earlier today and thought I heard Josh Jones from Spokane Valley and Podium Archery say that they were discontinued with a new arrow taking its place as well.

 

The word at Spokane Valley Archery according to MFJJ is that the "parallel x10" is replacing the procomp. When I commented on an Easton post on IG they replied that the new X10 was intended for hunting and or target...make of that what you will.

 

I am curious about how bendy they are, since JJ said he bent his taking them out of 3D targets at Tac. Is this common complaint with the Pro Comps?

Outside of the increased spine availability, what did they change from the Pro Comps?

 

Looks like the Procomp has simply been rebadged as the X10 Parallel Pro.

the problem the Pro Comp has was performance price ratio. For half the price, you could buy competitors’ 4mm carbon shafts, or (in Europe) Skylon Paragons, which are as skinny as X10s and shoot amazing. The only people i know who shot Pro Comps are people who shoot on school sports fields where they must use aluminium carbons to help metal detectors find lost arrows. 95% of everyone else shot either VAPs or Paragon/Preminens. Preminens with tungsten points are the same price as Pro Comps with steel points And the Skylon shoot unbelievably well. I think they had to get ‘X10’ in there to elevate the arrows to help them sell. Mid range offerings always suffer when people fear they’re missing out over a ‘top of the range’ arrow like the X10. Me? I shoot 3.2mm Paragons with tungsten points and could not ask for a better shafts. They’re actually slightly slimmer than x10s and tough as hell - far tougher than aluminium carbons.

 

We don't have the same availability of cheap chinese shafts in the US.

 

It will be interesting to hear if the Easton Target Archery podcast ever... elaborates on them... At first I wondered if some of the carbon weave tech from the X10 line was incorporated into the X10 Parallel line but they sound so similar to the ProComp line it's hard to say.

 

One thing’s different between the Pro Comp and the Parallel Pro….the new arrow is cheaper. Pro Comps were $291. dozen
Parallel Pro $249. dozen

 

Looks like the X10 PP is .001 vs the .0015 for the ProComp. Also the X10s come weight coded the ProComp does not. So if you basically start weight coding a ProComp and very slightly increase straightness... bingo X10 PP Considering they are the same price or less, seems like its just a line consolidation capitalizing on the X10 reputation.
