It's probably been mentioned before, but I haven't seen it. Wonderful books by Bernard Cornwell that is written around & about the English war bow & the archers that used them. Fast paced action that depicts the life of the English archer & his bow
& the cottage industry that supplies the archers with their arrows. Takes place in the 14th & 15th centuries. Agincourt & The Archers Tale. He wrote many other books that were great reading too. I think it's time for me to read them again.

The first Cornwell I read or heard was an audio called The Last Kingdom. After listening to it while cycling I realized it was the abridged version & asked the library to find the unabridged copy & they did. Loved it just as much the 2nd time around. Maybe the best book I ever heard. His battle scenes are so vivid that I can picture them. Better than the opening battle scene in the movie Gladitor which is great. He's one of my favorite authors. Pretty easy to download to computer & load onto my MP3 player.

They get more mention than most historical novel, but aren't central characters, the Griff hosker novels about the saxons and Varangians. Not the greatest novels ever, but I was entertained for about $5 ea on the kindle.

I have read Bernard Cornwell's Grail Quest trilogy a couple of times; The Archer's Tale, Vagabond, and The Heretic.
They are sort of historical....sort of. Good reads though. I believe I go them from the free downloads at Gutenburg.

I also found an interesting short book on Gutenburg....Fighting the Mill Creeks. Not archery specific, but sort of Ishi related.
