What can I expect to pay for a Hoyt Kobalt? I'm looking at this bow for my wife in a 26" draw length with 40-50lbs for the draw weight.

Here is my advice, remembering free advice is worth what you pay. Forget the Kobalt, for the same price of $550.00 you can guy her the new Turbo Hawk. I shot this bow last Friday and was blown away by it. From what I understand they are $599.00 but have a $50.00 rebate on them. It is the same engine (limbs and cams) as the Alphamax 32 but uses a cast magnesium riser instead of machined aluminum. Which makes it even lighter than the AM32. Find one, shoot one, buy one. It will be a much better choice than the Kobalt. My girlfriend shoots an Avenger, which is a great bow, and a step above the Kobalt, she loves it but I am doing my best to get her into the Turbo Hawk.

Probably $500.00. I was looking for them used, but didnt find any cheaper then $350-$400. Add on shipping and the used factor and I just bought new. One great bow though. Shooting 251 fps at 25" Draw length 50lbs with 283 grain arrow. Thats with a 1/4" peep, string loop, brass nock and string silencers.

I went to my local shop over the weekend and they were $529. I think the Turbohawk is probably the way to go. I plan on calling this week to see if they have one in stock as they didn't have one hanging up when I was there on Saturday and they were so busy I didn't bother them. My wife didn't want to shoot with that many people in the store.

The turbohawk is rated at 320 IBO at 30" draw length. The kobalt is 290 IBO at 27" draw length. Speed wise they both will end up being the same. The kobalt is adjustable for draw length with a rotating module. Nice option if you order the wrong draw length. Also, the kobalt is 1/2lb lighter and is made from an aluminum riser.
