Finally bought a house and close on it in 2/11/13

With it comes a metal pole barn that is 30'-50'

I have been approved to claim half of it to finish and turn into my man cave. the other half is the garage.

What I am looking for is everyone to post up pics of your own man cave to help me gain ideas about design color and just to day dream at work what my cave could look like.

Post away I want to see your man cave!!!

if your allowed to separate the two "rooms" go for it! then do an old school style on the inside, pine looks awesome! put a nice workbench in the back, couple nice comfy stools, and dont forget the BEER FRIDGE!

Don't forget enough space of an indoor range...seems like you'll have some room....

My basement has all sand-finish plastered white walls and pine trim with 3/4" shoebase all the way around on the floor. I think it looks realy clean and simple, and mounts and pictures stand out good. I was thinking of going with a tan type color as well but I wanted it to feel nice and bright down there so I just stuck with white and Im happy with it. I also left all the ceiling exposed and had a painter come in and flat black the whole thing. It looks realy good and helps too make it feel like the ceilings are taller than they realy are. Also can lights with a dimmer switch adds a nice touch with the electric wood stove fireplace going. This is prolly more of a inside the house kinda thing though as opposed to a shop like you are wanting to trick out though

I did mine in cedar. No clear coat or stain, just natural. One thing to keep in mind if you go with wood, it darkens over time & the area behind a picture or mount does not. Also, try to limit the amount of direct sunlight on a mount, fur & antlers bleach out.

some really good ideas guys.. based on a link that was posted buy gully, and the sugestions of pine. I really like the color below with pine or even red oak trim with some track lighting. please please post up more pics i really want to see some more before locking anything down. My goal is to have the cave finished by hunting season.

For the ultimate idea observe your local Cabela's & Bass Pro for decorating ideas. Safari Press has a series of coffee table books called "Great Hunters & Their Trophy Rooms".....seven volumes of pictures like the one below.

Don't forget the 110" HD theater and strategically placed hot tub outside the double glass doors for a good spot to watch from. A bar that never gets used is a nice touch too. I prefer ash over pine for the wood.

There was one posted in here where a guy had a huge tree placed into his home office. It was a high ceiling and looked awesome. I have been searching all the old threads that I can to find it but haven't been able to track it down. I want to put one in my next house and have a tree stand in it.

Wow.. these man caves are dreams..We close on the house 2/11/13 it will be summer before i can start on the cave. The pole barn is metal and needs to be blasted and painted. Once we get the house I will take some pics and post them up on here so you can see what I have to work with. I can tell you they poured the slab themselves in sections of 2'x4' Im going to build a sub floor on top of the slab with some poly under it as a vapor and when i build the walls same thing poly on the outside of walls to act as vapor. Man some impressive work here.

CONGRATS BRO!!!!!!! good to hear about the house! i just went through it back in august/september im sure you remember! I have a half finished basement that will be the man cave/deer camp. its about 14' x 30' with walkout french doors towards my tree stand. i'm tagging this post to get some more ideas! I plan on making locker stalls like you see players being interviewed in after the game....but mine will be for hunters, bow hanger's and such...i plan on putting in a bar with a glass top with unused tags dating back to the 70's from my dad underneath the glass. also on one wall i want to put up my "wall of fame" for retired bows with pics of the kills associated with them. just a few ideas! congrats again!!
