I will be moving to Jacksonville, FL in the next year and was wondering if anyone could tell/recommend any archery shops in the area? Also looking for 3D tournaments and hunt clubs if anyone can pass along any information on those as well, thanks in advance.

Fort caroline archery is a membership club but also has a pro shop open to the public. Mike is great and is helpful, he sells only bowtech but sometimes has a used selection. He is really set up for the hunter archer, not so much competitive, but he can get you what you need. The club is great, you have a code to the gate so can come and go as you please, it has 20 lanes plus an indoor range....its really a great place to shoot and have fun.

Also, its a drive, but I suggest Circle C Archery in Folkston GA. Margie and Jerry have TONS of competitive archery experience and have a HUGE selection.....as stated above, two thumbs up for both Jack at GA and Rick at Strike Zone......all those places are great!

I bought my Z7x from Strike Zone. I have known Dave from fishing as it was my first outdoor passion. I have also known Rick from the firearms industry for a while as well. Ed was the one who spent the better half of one morning getting me squared away.

When I left the shop my bow was set up to hunt with the 20 and 30 yd pins set. They took time to ensure I was squared away and set up to my liking. The shop was slammed but at no time did they make feel rushed, including taking the time to get me sited in.

Their shop also has an amazing selection with very competitive prices.

I have also shopped at Green Acres who also have a large selection and who have also been in the game much longer. The only real complaint I have on Green Acres is their entire bow section (bows and accessories) are behind the counter, thus making it hard to kill time and browse on your own. May not bother others but at times I like comparing things on my own.

Awesome thanks for the heads up. I've read some reviews online about green acres and read some negative reviews about the kids. But I will give them a shot once I'm settled into the new place. Also, anyone heard of North Florida Archery Club? They sound like they have a real nice setup w the 3D tournaments. Anyone shot with them before?

Green Acres off Normandy Blvd. is good. It is family owned and operated. However, I try to deal with Jack (owner) and get him to work on my bow. It doesn't all ways happen that way though because everyone wants him to work on there bows. So you may have to deal with his kids which dont seem to love what they do which bugs me. I get the impression they are working for dad because they feel obligated. All in all it's a good shop though and I have always walked out of there a happy customer. They will have all the info on 3D tournaments.

Also, since Green Acres is such a drive for me I have been going to Strike Zone off Beach Blvd just east of 9A here lately. I deal with Rick and he knows his stuff. I was skepitcal at first since they are primarily a fishing store but I would drop in and chat with Rick when I needed some accessories and just from talking to him and over hearing his converstions with other customers I could tell he knew what he was talking about and doing.
