It started doing this last season and it's just getting worse. Feels very tar like to the touch and EVERYTHING sticks to it. It still performs, but I don't know for how much longer. Waiting on customer service to get their side of the story...
Limbsaver Modular stab, it's sticky! Anyone know whats up here?!

Yeah, almost sounds like it has an expiring shelf life whether you use it or not. It still works, but man, it's getting to be a pain in the butt every time I sit my bow down I have to pick something off it. I'm about tempted to camo tape it up just to prevent that from happening.
They do that over time. I've got a ton of older limbsaver stuff that has turned sticky. Recoil pads were horrible with sticking to the carpet in the gun safe. Seems the rubber breaks down after a couple of years.
I have the same problem with recoil pads and LS modular stabilizer. I has to be some type of issue. I will never have another LS recoil pad unless they fix this issue.
My Simms Modular stab is still fine, had it since 2003. My X-Coil is still fine too, had it for a good 3-4 years. The recoil pads on both of my shotguns are sticky though. Just had to move my 870 over a little in my safe and had to step on the carpet so I could pick it up. They still work fine though.
I was looking at a brand new PSE at the bow shop a couple of years ago when they came out with those spider looking rubber dampeners on the limbs. I was feeling them and they were not just sticky but gooey. They were actually deforming like play doe in my fingers.
I got a word back from customer service at Simms yesterday. They said it sounds like I got a stabilizer made from a bad batch of rubber and to send it in and they'll replace it with a brand new one! So, I sent it off today in the mail and hopefully next week I'll have a brand new updated model on my bow. I sure hope so anyways, the countdown timer 'till bow season is getting shorter and shorter and I still haven't shot nearly as much as I need/want to. I'll try to keep you all informed of the good news pending...
Ok, so it didn't take long for Limbsaver to get back to me on the issue and it didn't take long for them to get be a brand new replacement either! They were very easy to talk with and more than happy to help. Now I have a brand new AWS Modular stab I get to tinker with! It looks even better in person and feels great so far. So pleased with these guys I went ahead and got myself some green Broadbands too. Should have 'em this week.
My FIL has a limbsaver butt pad on his waterfowl gun...did the same thing, except on the carpet of his gear closet. It must be something in the material it's made out of.
