I'm trying to sell and hand climber that was of the older model. All years produced was US made but one. Is there anyway to tell if the stand was of the China production run or made here in the US?

Thanks,
B

And I could be wrong also, but had a friend that ran a small business, and they said that everything imported had to have a label/sticker somewhere on it, stating the country of origin.

Worth searching around the nooks and crannies for that sticker, or "Made in USA", or something.

Mine is a USA model and it is not stamped made in the USA anywhere on it I have ever been able to find. It only said it on the box. The LW's were only made in China in 2010 but XOP sold a lot of those that they got stuck with when LW came back to the US. LW has always replied promptly to my emails, maybe sned them an email and ask.

I also think the China models had a different color tube - it was tan/brown-ish. Yours looks to be USA made.
The brown/tan tube coloring was first introduced on the generation 2 stands, which they began making when production returned to the U.S. In 2011. The Chinese stands had black tubing.

As someone else mentioned, the bright white washers is usually a pretty good indication of whether a stand is US or Chinese made.

Older lone wolf posts were black and then they changed to this orange copper Brownish color.

Does it say anything on that bright orange sticker?

I know the hang on stands you could tell by the straps were gray and had a whitish tag that said made in China and the platforms were a little shinier.

Climbers....not so sure

I have two 2009 Lone Wolf stands; a handclimber and an Assault hang-on. Neither say anything on them about country of manufacture as I said earlier. I imagine you could send the serial number to Lone Wolf and they could tell you. After they went to China they changed to the copper colored tubes and brown straps. Before that, and including the China made stands, they had black tubes and grey straps. But you cannot use the color alone. Like others said, any China made stand I saw had very rough castings. Otherwise they are fine and safe to use as XOP proved when they sold them to many who are still using them.

You guys are unreal....you'd have to throw half your goods in your house out if you really were that concerned about foreign products. I hung many china made stands, this last year I spent 10 straight days all day in one, sun up to sun down....didn't seem to feel different, hang different or impair my ability to see deer. I'll take all the china built ones, work great for me. I have a at least 20 LW stands, the only one's I can tell a difference on are the ones with the old grey foam seats yet.....

Although I did replace the straps on some China ones....the material of the strap seems different, more slippery so to speak. the buckle doesn't cinch that well. I replaced them with XOP straps, the XOP straps are bad azz. Beefy, thick, wider, way better. They grab like glue!

I don't know about the climbers, but the hang on's straps say, Made in china. only way I can tell the difference one they are in a tree. Now my china one's have XOP straps so it will be easy to tell when the cable snaps. LOL, yeah right.
