I'm 14 and have a 30 inch draw right now and am about 6'1 so my old Liberty which I love is becoming to small plus when I bought the bow I wasn't lifting :weightlifter:and couldn't pull 60 lbs. That was 2 years ago tho. So i was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on a bow with a draw length that goes up to 31 inches possibly and 60-70. Thanks and much appreciated.

Diamond Liberty (07) 62 pounds 30 in
QAD rest, HHA sight, Terminator arrows
Rage, Montec CS, Slick Tricks( Depending on the critter)

Actually a bow in the low 60's would be perfect because I shoot alot all day so something around 63 pounds.

since you are still growing, you want a bow with adjustable draw length -- most of the models listed above are fixed draw length

Hoyt offers several models that go above 30" draw, see their web site for a complete run-down; any bow with the Cam-1/2 offers a 2-1/2" adjustment range; you want to be at the bottom end of the range now, so that you'll have the full 2-1/2" to grow into

60-70 pound draw weight is common, so you can adjust it to the mid-60's for now and then work up as you work out

You can find good Hoyts used if you are patient -- the long draw models don't come along very often, but if you watch the classifieds and e-bay for a while you can find them

HCA Supreme Pro is another good choice that also has adjustable draw length, but I think it is 1-1/2" range if I remember correctly

Thanks I actually looked into the hoyt superhawk and A mathews drenalin ld alot I like the looks of both. Anyone have any experience with either. Also is it expensive to swap out cams on the dren?

I have a 31.5" DL. I have a Mathews Ovation that is currently set at 31" (I just got the 31.5" cam and will have it installed shortly) I have also bought a Bowtech commander and will get it in a day or two.

I am a rookie archer and cannot offer much advice but I will give you these points to ponder.

1. Mathews bows are nice (I really like them) but the cam must be changed to change DL. This can be expensive. This is not a big deal if your DL will not change but it sounds like yours will change at least an inch or two in the future.

2. Short ATA bows feel awkward at a long draw length. A long ATA will allow you to install the peep at a location close to your eye. If the ATA is on the short side the peep must be installed high on the string due to the angle of the string when drawn.

3. You can find a lot of bows that have a 30-31" draw length but if you need a DL longer than that your choices are limited. If I were in your shoes I would look for a bow that has draw modules so that you do not have to buy/change a cam as you grow.

4. Do not let your buddies draw/shoot your bow if their draw length is too short. They will likely hurt themselves or your bow as drawing the bow back will be too awkward for them and they may dry fire it.

Thanks for the advice guys I have looked at several bows such as the swat, superhawk and switchback ld and drenalin ld. Have shot bows from all companies and love them all just got to wait and see what happens my 30 inch draw is about right now maybe a tad on the short side but I can live with that for now with cold michigan weather and extra bulky clothing. Has anyone shot any of the bows I have listed? If so please share your thoughts.
