you work for them? Pro staff?
No, like many here I bought the hammock chair years ago at a deer show in town. I have used it sporadically over the years. I pulled it out a couple of weeks ago to use it. I got to looking at it and thought I would check their website to see if they had any new products, in fact I figured they would be out of business by now. I pulled up their website and the only chair they had was the new Low Down. It was out of stock at the time. I checked back a couple of days afterward and it was in stock and I bought. I tried it out in the back yard and I was impressed and as a good Archery Talk member I posted the results. I was a bit miffed that they didnt send me an email receipt of my purchase, when I got the seat they had a paper in there thanking me for the purchase and their phone number. . So no I have zero connection with them. Just a product review.

I have a Summit tree seat that beats anything else out there for comfort but it’s kinda heavy and a total pita to carry. The low down wins for weight and ease of carrying. I’ve not spent much time in it but I don’t regret spending the money.

I got one of the old models at an outdoor show, it was a nice solution to a portable seat that gets you up off the ground for better visibility.

A few cons with it was the single post, if there was a horizontal lean it'd want to swing you to the down hill side.

The fabric of the seat is noisy, I think they went for durable and waterproof but it's crinkly in cold weather worse.

Getting the right height with the single post was hard it high and it wasnt deep enough, too low and it's wedge between your legs too high.

This might be improved enough to warrant buying a new model.

I picked one up years ago at a hunting show. When this thread started I was trying to figure out a good way to hunt this creek bottom and remembered I had the Hammock seat. Well I tried it out. It was very comfortable and I was able to put it in the dry creek in a position that only my head was above the sides. That said, it was very comfortable but noisy. I remember seeing a video where a guy thought the same. He ordered some sportsnetting and replaced the seat. I will do that and replace the buckle before I use it again.

Its a great concept, there's very little that is portable, sub 3lbs, and gets you off the ground which for me in the mountains allows a much better sight line where sitting on the ground can ruin a field of view with ledges and benches.

At the more than double cost jump I would have wanted to see more improvement made. Quieter fabric, metal cam buckle instead of plastic clip.

Im thinking I may put my own strap thru it with a friction buckle to make it easier and more secure.
I swapped mine out this morning. It’s a definite improvement. As you thought. It adjusts easier and is more secure than the plastic. I lost about 1’ of length but it’s still plenty big enough to go around a fairly large tree.

I know it’s not super cold but I also had it on a tree with temps around 32 deg. The fabric seems a little crunchy while handling it but it’s quiet enough while you’re sitting in it.

I can see me using the heck out of this thing in the firearms seasons. I used to carry a small blind stool or sometimes my Summit seat but this is sooo much easier to carry. The only negative I can foresee is that if it’s raining. It’s going to make for a wet butt for sure. Lol!

True statement!

The plastic buckle is pretty bogus for the price.

I changed my strap out but went with this. Ounces heavier for sure but I don't have to string anything thru a buckle, especially in the dark, worth the weight.

When I got the original model, close to ten years ago I was super afraid that the plastic buckle would break. However, after a ton of use in all kinds of temperatures, it's still going strong. It may break the next time I use it, but no problems so far.

I was at an outdoor show in Harrisburg and this company was there.

It does seem to be an improvement on the original, worth double? We will see but since they had a show special and I didn't have to pay tax or shipping it was a decent enough deal I grabbed one.

The double pole design does make it more comfortable, versatile in sitting height, a bit quicker to set up but also does add a bit of weight.

I also find a use for the seat a few times a year and think this one will serve those uses a bit better.

I used one of these seats all last season and it worked great for me. Light, easy to carry and set up (against various sized trees on hillsides and flat ground) no issues with noise during cold and rainy weather. Had several deer walk up to 15 yds or closer in it and no issues moving or getting into shooting position. Very happy with it so far.
