Hello all I just saw an ad for a martin bengal, for $349. It looked like a great deal, seems like an awful lot of bow for a short amount of cash. I am not familiar with these are they any good????

+1 I have 3 bows with the M Pro cam and yes they are smooth, quiet and no hand shock. I also have a 08 Firecat with the Cat Cam system. Best bang for your buck!!

There is a review of the Bengal on Arrow Trade Magazine. Here is a link to the article. http://www.arrowtrademagazine.com/articles/jan_07/MartinBengalReport-January2007.pdf

As others have said, the M-Pro cam is not the fastest. I think they call their new cam an M-Pro2. It may be faster, but I have not read a review on it. I looked at a 2007 Bengal at Cabelas and was disappointed in the fit and finish. It looked clumsy compared to the high end bows. BUT, it costs less than half the price of the very high end bows.

If I were you, I'd try to find out what cam in on the bow you saw advertised and look at one in person. If you like what you see, great, that's the bow for you.

Bengal is a kick ass bow

I sold my 1994 Martin Bengal, with the big honkin Energy Cams for $300.00 just this year Why? Cause I needed the money! Hopefully when I am flush I can buy it back. I still have my 1983 Martin Cougar Magnum, still looks new the day I bought it in 1983, whisper quiet without all the string stoppers, dampers , stabs etc. And it is an accurate finger shooter, as accurate as my 2008 Proelite. I will never sell my 83 Cougar ever. No other bow on the market is as quiet either.
