I'm in the market for a new pair of warm boots. I've been told that mickeys are super warm. I want opinions on them, likes and dis likes. If they are as warm as i've been told they are definately a bargain compared to other quality name brand insulated boots. Any and all opinions welcomed.

Best cold weather boot I've ever owned. Have been using them since back in the 70's. A little bulky yes but I used to rabbit hunt with them and walked a lot wearing them. I also uesd them for ice fishing, snowmobiling and everything else. They are the only boot that will keep my feet warm. I have 2 pairs and my wife has one pair.

Go on Ebay... You can buy them for 30-60$ Best boot for the price hands down.. Just make sure they have the insert so they are not all rubber on the inside, makes it alot easier to get your feet in and out.

They are water proof. I can't complain about them at all

Yup good boot, 100% water proof, and very warm. Like it was said a little big is way better than small. If they fit even a little small your feet will freeze in them. The white ones are warmer than the black ones. And the traction sucks on all of them. And very durable. I bought my pair at the army surplus store in our area.

I used them back quite a bit back in the late 80's early 90's. They are very heavy, to the point that you dont want to walk far in them. The ones I used got extremely very good traction and I never did slip on frozen snow in the Pennsylvania mountains, but I did with any other boot I wore in those days. I tried others to get away from the weight. I found that the white colored ones were warmer than the black ones and they both kept my feet warmer if I inflated them. They would always deflate on their own at the end of a hunt. Your feet absolutely will not get cold with these boots and they are not very expensive. I have always had best luck with whatever the highest rated cold weather boot LaCrosse makes...used to be the Ice Man's or maybe it was Ice King's I bought back in the late 80's. Then they went to the Snow King's {late 90's??} which I still wear to this day. First commercial non military surplus boots I ever had that my feet never got cold in. Not sure what they call their best cold temp boot these days, havent needed a pair.

I been hunting and working in them for a few years now.the key is good socks that wick the sweat away because your feet will sweat in them then they will freeze.good socks are a must.boots are too heavy for a lot of walking but they are warm.with the inside being rubber if the insides get wet all you have to do is wipe them out and your good to go.try that with any other liner out there

I have Mickeys and to me they are pretty much THE boot. If you get a pair you will easily have them for 20 years (my dad and uncle both have theirs from over 20 years ago). They are a little big and clunky but dont get in the way of anything for me. I would highly reccomend them.

The best cold weather boot I have ever worn. The actually aren't heavy at all. They are lighter than my irish setter 1000grams and ten times warmer. I only ever wear them if the temp dips below 0. The only downfall to them is no traction really. I will say the sizes are a bit off. I wear a size 14 wide normally and 12R is the perfect size in these for an extra pair of socks.

The mickey boot is the air force flight boots extrenely warm but very heavy awkward when walking.I bought a pair a couple years ago ,they are pretty good if you dont have walk far to your stand and its very cold.
Ive got a pair of size 14 wide Id let go for a few bucks if somebody wants them.

I've been using them for many years and plan to continue. The key is to get a pair of gore-tex booties (over socks) that go over your regular socks to keep them dry. Cabelas used to have them but not anymore.

Another key point is, it is better to have them a size larger rather than even a half size too small!!! Not only from a comfort stand point, but warmth as well. Mine are wide also.
Also, do not blow air into the valve on the side, just forget it is there.

Back in the 80's we called the Army GI cold weather issued boots Mickey Mouse boots; they were not exactly great. Most of us Privates saved a weeks pay and bought "Matterhorn's" Saddle soaped the heck out of them and then waterproofed with Kiwi Mink Oil. The alternate was to wear Chinese Jump Boots which were a combination of your running sneakers (tennis shoes) and Galoshes( Wet Weather Boots) Today, any Boot that has Thinsulate in it is a good Boot but pay more attention to your socks. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
