Gas mileage not so great in earlier models.Our town bought alot from overseas and realized the mileage was kilometer/gallon for some reason in marketing but ended up in mid 20's

I have a buddy that bought and sold something like 100 of them several years ago. He had one for himself for a while and we used it for a couple waterfowl hunts for hauling gear and getting us in and out of the locations. My memory was that the cab on the thing was tiny tiny tiny. We both are about 230# and with hunting clothing on it looked like we were wearing the cab of the mini truck. It did do a nice job of getting around. Just not comfortable to ride in for any amount of time.

I'll take my Polaris Ranger or my Honda Rancher any day of the week over a mini-truck.

My neighbor has one. As mentioned its tiny. I'll take my UTV over it any day. He drives his all over the dang place and loves it, so power to him.

 

I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota that I lifted and put 33" Nitto Mud Grapplers. It has the 4.7 V8 engine. I have never had a need or desire for a UTV or ATV. That truck can get just about anywhere I need it to go. It really is at home in a field for waterfowl. It's light enough that with those mud tires it will not sink even in the softest mud, perfect for hauling goose decoys.

My only complaint is the junk IFS (Independent front suspension). It doesn't flex worth a damn. It's currently my daily driver but once I get my diesel, my Dakota is getting a straight axle from a Bronco up front.

 

A wide open field is one thing. No comparison to a utv when talking about "going anywhere" because a truck of that size won't

 

you could buy 2 mini-trucks for what a new utv costs

 

Had one for work. Super easy to work on and they rarely break. Thing would go all over the place with out a problem. Hardest part was we bought it straight from Asia, everything was on the wrong side. Shifting with your opposite hand was weird.

 

Looks cool but I've never road in one. The advantage is much larger hauling capacity. I will stick with my UTV, love my Rhino

 

Hey guys I appreciate the info. It's always good to hear from experience. Lots of things to consider, thought these were kinda cool looking and for the price of some of these utv's it was something to compare.

 

How much was the one you posted? And its 4x4?

 

I use a suzuki samurai, it's spring over with 31's. It goes a lot of places. Buts it's gutless and rough ride compared to a utv. I paid 4500 for it and like being able to run to town or off-road with it.

 

I use a bronco ll like utv and mini truck . Plus it has heat for winter

 

thats the thing you can get heat and a/c on these plus its an enclosed cab. just worried about how well they will actually stand up off road. I'm not gonna go crazy off roading or anything but not all roads are flat and even either.

 

You can get all that you mentioned on a utv as well. They are built to be off road so reversing that and putting them on road is easy. Take something that's built to be on road and reverse that you begin to have problems.

 

Around here they sell for a lot less than $13k. I've seen some around $6500. I liked the one I've been in, it had heat and a/c. It seemed front heavy as in I thought it was going to roll forward going through a ditch but they are pretty good on all the terrain we've used it on.

My Toyota has taken me everywhere I've ever wanted to go and even places I really didn't want to go.

 

A wrangler with 6 inch lift and 35s is a much better hunting vehicle. The jeep has more power, better suspension, and way more ground clearance.

yup, I like the idea of multiple uses especially the crew cab model you can get with these things, definitely gotta do some comparisons. only want to do this one time. Last 4 atv I bought new was 8-9 years ago.

I will stick to putting my ATV in my truck. . . The cab might be nice for inclement weather, but those little trucks would highly limit my ability to go into a lot of my property. They are neat little things, but not for me.

 

Unless you add a lift kit and taller tires a hard boiled egg will high center you.

 

My dad has been driving one every day for close to 10yrs. Thing is a beast. The only thing that stops it is getting hung up on things. Put it in low range and it will go through a lot. Mileage is incredible and they seem to run forever.
Interiors are tiny.
Looking for a club cab one now.
