I don't have either in binoculars. However for my rifle I bought in January I bought the vortex diamondback 3 x 9 x 40 scope and was thinking of a Nikon when I originally went in bass pro. I compared the two and the vortex hands down was the better deal. The guy at the store had this opinion, "Nikon makes really nice cameras". I actually just got the vortex crossfire II 3 x 9 x 40 scope for my muzzleloader and didn't even give it a second thought because of how satisfied I have been with my other vortex scope. I realize that this post isn't very useful to you, but I feel like vortex has some quality optics and great customer service and I'm sure you'd be satisfied as well. Best advice I could give is to just test out both products. Unfortunately you can't get the low light aspect in a store but you can still tell a lot about the optics by comparing them in store. Good luck with whichever you choose, but I think either would be a great choice.
