I just read on Wyverns FB page that Parker Crossbows closed their door. Passing it along. Sad news. Edit....this includes verticals. All shut down :(

"Quick FYI for those that are interested Parker Crossbows just closed its doors....."

Pretty sad to see any business close or go down.

Look at what mother nature has thrown out this past year: drought, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes and wild fires.
Many people have lost homes, businesses and many employees no longer have a place to go to work due to these.
When things like this happen, the money is not there to buy extras, let alone the basic needs.

All the best. Have a safe and Happy Holiday season.

theres proof you need a 480 f.p.s 3000.00 speed bow in your line up.....................:mg:

Their warranty was for ever too.

Funny how certain folks thought it would be Ravin

Great customer service with the worst trigger in the buisnesss . My first crossbow was a 2009 Tornado as well. So yea its sort of sad.

Kinda like the Toyota and Datsun cars when they first came over. Put junk but like the cars, the crossbows have stepped it up with good warranty and higher performance in a very inexpensive package.
With money so tight for many with families, buying a rig for three hundred gets them out in the woods which otherwise wouldn’t be possible.
Overseas have us by the short and curlies with no sign of that changing
Free trade is not free....
Phones,bows,computers,scopes..to name just a few..... It’s a slippery slope
Most on here are fortunate enough to have a couple of crossbows and a couple of thousand of mad money a year to spend on whatever...
I try to buy U.S.
or Canadian . Many are price driven simply because of economics.....

I hate to see any bow company close their doors.

My first crossbow was a Parker. Didn't like it much at all and it certainly did not give me a good first impression on crossbows. Loud, very bad trigger pull, and had serving issues within a very few shots. I didn't really appreciate crossbows until I purchased a Scorpyd and a Mission. The higher quality of those made all the difference for this ole boy.

Email i got

Dear Sir or Madam:

Parker Bows has made the difficult decision to cease operations. We have explored what we believe to be all possible options to continue operations in one form or another but to no avail. It has truly been an honor to have been a part of your hunting seasons for over two decades. And it is hard to put into words what your loyalty and support has meant to us.

Effective as of the date of this email (December 17, 2018), all Parker and Red Hot branded products sold will be without a warranty regardless of statements on the packaging or in owner’s manuals. We will make every effort to honor existing warranty claims for items received at our Staunton, Virginia headquarters on or before December 31, 2018.

Before returning any item for warranty service, please call 540-337-5426 to speak with a customer service representative and obtain a Return Authorization Number. Items received after December 31, 2018 will be refused.

As we wind down our operations, please check our website, social media pages, future emails and with your local dealer for special offers and announcements.

Thank you,

Tom Woodworth

I pity anyone who has bought their child or anyone else a Parker crossbow, scope, etc. for a Christmas present when they find that they no longer have the warranty that was promised. My first crossbow was a Parker and had 2 warranty problems in less than 70 shots. It would have been useless without the warranty.

Yes hard to believe with all the great things this economy was promised. I to had a great experience with my first crossbow being a Parker Tornado, had 2 of em and the Gale Force, never a problem with any of them. I killed my farthest ever deer with archery equipment with the Gale Force at 62 yards, a less than 25 yard recovery. Have been close to buying a hurricane twice, sweet shooting and very sweet cocking bow, with very good speed and accuracy. Hate to hear this!

All of that political stuff is nothing but hot air until it hits closer to home. I’m sure the Chinese stuff has a lot to do with it. My state of Virginia has a lot of Parker supporters. It will be strange not seeing them at the hunting expos.

I think it is simply a matter of being passed up and never catching up with the competition. When’s the last time any of you bought a Parker or been interested in one? Were they on you radar this coming year? Probably not. The fact that a thread on their closing is getting talked about more than their bows may say something.

Good point. My first two crossbows were Parkers and to be honest my interest in them since I owned other brands has been modest at best. In reality it didn’t matter much if the consumer was buying Chinese bows or upper level domestic bows they weren’t buying enough Parkers and you can only slice the pie so many times.

It’s kind of like when a not so close relative dies...you really didn’t want to spend time with them but you feel bad that you didn’t.

I have two of them. In terms of illumination, light gathering, etc. they work as well as anything I've looked through in low light, EXCEPT the optical quality is mediocre or worse. Not good when you can look through a scope and it's a bit blurry, then lift your head up and look over top of the crosshair, and it's clearer. You are much better off with your Leupys.
