Question-Can't Fit Sight Ring in Peep

Somewhat new to compound bow archery and got a question: I'm using the biggest peep out there (1/4") on a 32" ATA bow with a 2" diameter 5-pin sight and cannot see the entire sight ring through the peep. I would have to get my eye less than 2" from the peep to be able to center the ring. The 5-pin ring sight only has two "distance from the riser" settings and its on the furthest out. Can't find anyone who makes a sight extender (to fit a cheap Tru Glow). Is my only option left to buy an expensive sight that has an extension on it? I know I loose some use of the peep because of the steep bow string angle (compared to the 40" ATA bow I just got rid of). Its a rubber tube pulled type peep. Any help would be appreciated.

Get a g5 peep and if 1/4 doesnt work they have 5/16

I have the same problem, possible solutions are pretty obvious and you already listed them:

1) get a bigger peep -- 5/16 might do it

2) get a smaller pin guard -- I use an Extreme RT-900 for this reason

3) move the sight farther out -- usually this does not make a big enough difference and is not a real good option for a hunting bow

There are sme good suggestions here, but I have another. Don't worry about it. Encircling the guard with the peep is one of the "IN THINGS" these days. It can show you whether you are torquing the bow or anchored properly, but it's not an absolute must.

If you can shoot well with what you have then let it be. If you aren't shooting that well then it probably isn't peep related anyway, but could be a form issue. The best way to correct form issues is to tweak the bow's draw length to fit ou better and then "shoot form" till it's the best you can get.

Years ago when I was in my 20's I shot a 6X scope and to clear it up I had to shoot a 1/32" peep and I shot a lot more accurately then than I do now with a larger peep. But back then I had much more consistent form.

I had a similiar issue with trying to center my 2" pin housing in my peep. It worked pretty good until I would get to 50-65 yard shot's, then I would start out with the housing centered but would float off center just a very little so I would shoot out the bottom of the bullseye. The large peep in concert with the large housing just left too much room for moving around and I couldn't pick up on it during the shot. What I did is went back to my smaller peep hole (second from the smallest Specialty peep insert) and just center the pin, don't worry or even see the pin housing. I just make sure my level is centered early in my shooting process. I have found I don't have problems just centering the pin as I thought I would have. I used to shoot with a scope and always centered my scope housing in the peep, and sized the peep for this so centering pins was new to me. Try it and see if it works for you as well.
