A whisker biscuit with straight fletching isn't terrible, but add a heavy helical and you are moving a lot more bristles than with the straight fletch. More bristles moving makes more noise, but I honestly don't consider the WB to be a very quiet rest, but that is only my opinion.

Of the others on the market, the Vapor Trail Gen 7 rests have always been what I considered decently quiet, but they all make some amount of noise, some being sharper then others, some being more dull or thunkish.

Which is the most quiet? That's hard to say for me.

If quiet is what you seek the whisker biscuit is by a wide margin the quietest.... You just have to be able to out shoot ALL your buddies so then they can't make fun of you! I have yet to hear a rest that is louder than any bow I've ever shot ... so never payed too much attention to it.

I would think the vaportrail Gen7 or Gi8 would be quieter than any of the other drop aways. Hamskea has a metal on metal contact point when the arrow rest comes down that makes noise. Ive had a couple QAD HDX rests some a quiet some arent and that seems to depend on how worn the braking system is in the unit. The vaportrail has a rubber body that the flipper arm presses up against when shot and my guess is thats the quietest of the 3 most common drop aways

Vapor trail is quieter than hamskea and QAD. The HHA Virtus is about the same as vapor trail.

Agree, seems no rest is louder than release of the bow.

I do have the hamskea primer and like it, but my center shot has my vanes riiiight up against the cage. I wish that cage opening was larger on the primer

The sound of the rest - if any - is inconsequential - given the sound of the bow at the shot will always be louder than the rest.
