Picked up a package of rage broadheads, thinking about trying them. Opened them up and the sharpness seemed underwhelming to say the least. In fact they seem quite dull. So wondering if you guys sharpen them and if so how are you doing it to get a good edge on them?

Sounds like you might have some counterfeit heads. The Stay Sharp honing guide does a good job on every replaceable blade that I’ve tried.

If they don’t shave they don’t hunt. I take the blades out and use an exacto blade holder to hold the bottom and very lightly run them down some ceramic sticks set in a 20* V, you need to go very, very light. That will get them scary sharp. I sharpen almost all brands before I hunt with them. I think that’s the biggest mistake many hunters make is not having razor sharp heads. Second would be quivers that sticks the heads in contact with foam.
I leave them on the arrow and sharpen them on a large diamond stone, swiveling the blade not being sharpened forward to keep it out of the way.
