Replacing a Reckoning cam

I need to replace a cam on a BowTech Reckoning 39.
The whole cam screws into the limbs.
Can I put the bow in a bow press and remove the strings from the cam I'm replacing.
And, then take to bow out of the press and unscrew the old cam and screw on the new one?

Yes, that is how it is done. Be very aware of not letting the axle mounts to turn or you will have issues later. Those mounts, when removed from the limbs, can turn in or out and it will mess up cam spacing. Take real good measurements of the spacing between cam and axle before you remove it from the limbs, and then make sure the new cam and axle are spaced the same as what you are taking off.

PS - I asked Bowtech and they said "Unfortunately, I cannot provide that information. "
Thanks a lot Bowtech.
Bowtech won't give you that information because they want all work done by an authorized dealer. Same reason they won't sell you parts directly.

I do all of my now work............well almost. I would recommend letting a good Bowtech tech do this one. I did and glad that I did.

My two cents, if it’s under warranty, take it to the shop.
